Awww thanks everyone! Sorry I was having a pity party moment yesterday!

Back to books - I have 20 pages of Chris's beta read left and I am thoroughly entertained Chris! I should have my thoughts to you soon! And I am still reading Fire Country David! I told Chris I would try to get the beta read done by 08/31 so I have been reading that right now but I should back to Fire Country tonight!

Becky (bek11) | 451 comments I should be finishing up Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater today or tomorrow. I plan on starting Inkspell (Inkworld, #2) by Cornelia Funke tomorrow on audio. After Labor Day weekend, my calendar is relatively empty, so I'm hoping to get a lot of book listening in while I work on some projects at home.

I sneakily started Inkspell this morning on audio *shhhhhh* don't tell on me! What are your thoughts on Shiver Becky??

message 5856: by Becky (new)

Becky (bek11) | 451 comments Shiver is pretty good. It's more of a love story than I thought it was going to be. I guess I expected a bit more conflict or complexity. The Jack part helps a bit. I think it'll be a 3 star one for me. It's not that I don't like it 'cause I do. I am going to take your advice and only read the first one.

Yeah I agree with your thoughts on the book. The writing is beautiful and I loved the characters more than the story, which was lacking at times. Still worth the read over all. I think you are smart to skip books two and three -- especially three!

Amreen | 33 comments There is also a trailer for Divergent ahhh. I was a bit upset with Theo cast as Four but it looks pretty good and they seem to be sticking to the book story line which makes me happy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzVATE...

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 1572 comments I think the movie looks promising, but compared to the Book Thief trailer and Catching Fire, it wasn't as good as a trailer. But I like the look of the movie!

Amreen | 33 comments I just finished This Is What Happy Looks Like by Jennifer E. Smith and The Opposite of Tidy by Carrie Mac . I really liked them both, the former a little bit more than the latter though.

Now I have started Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee . It's quickly becoming one of my favorites of all time.

Along with that I'm reading The Dream Thieves (The Raven Cycle, #2) by Maggie Stiefvater !

Seth (ninjaaaaaofwritingbooks) | 240 comments So I finished Rot and Ruin (Benny Imura, #1) by Jonathan Maberry and it was soooooooo freaking amazing! I understand why you all liked it! So addicting. Then I tried to start quite a few books after reading it, then downloaded Dust and Decay (Benny Imura, #2) by Jonathan Maberry and am now almost halfway through and started just after breakfast. I just couldn't stop thinking about all the characters long enough to start another book.

message 5887: by Katie (last edited Aug 31, 2013 03:45PM) (new)

Katie (thesassifraskat) I just finished Infamous (Fame Game, #3) by Lauren Conrad by Lauren Conrad this morning, and it was a good conclusion to the L.A. Candy and the Fame Game series that she developed. The characters weren't that relative to every day life, but all in all they were decent enough. Is it a combo series that I would recommend? Yes, for the sheer fact that you will get sucked in, and it will become a guilty pleasure if you want it to be.

After I finished that, I started Golden by Jessi Kirby by Jessi Kirby today. Thus far its very good, and very addicting. I haven't put it down that much to much else today.

Definitely true for me! Especially since I just finished Dust and Decay (Benny Imura, #2) by Jonathan Maberry Speaking of which ... It very much made me sad. But so so good. And so so sad too. Just agggggh. I think I need a break from all the craziness/actionyness/depression. Of the following books, which will calm me down/make me the least sad (aka not depressing or crazy actiony)?

Requiem (Delirium, #3) by Lauren Oliver
The Moon Dwellers (The Dwellers, #1) by David Estes
On the Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta
Cinder (Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer
The Monstrumologist (The Monstrumologist, #1) by Rick Yancey
Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee
Finnikin of the Rock (Lumatere Chronicles, #1) by Melina Marchetta
The Name of the Star (Shades of London, #1) by Maureen Johnson
The False Prince (The Ascendance Trilogy, #1) by Jennifer A. Nielsen
Glow (Sky Chasers, #1) by Amy Kathleen Ryan
Dies the Fire (Emberverse, #1) by S.M. Stirling
The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
So Yesterday by Scott Westerfeld
Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky, #1) by Veronica Rossi
Endlessly (Paranormalcy, #3) by Kiersten White

Okay I know that's a lot of options and a lot of you like quite a few of those books, but it would be very helpful if you guys could tell me which one to read for the least amount of heartbreak or intensity!

Seth avoid Fault and Jellicoe!! Both are crazy emotional. I recommend Moon Dwellers or Cinder.

message 5895: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 1572 comments Almost all those books you listed are very intense or emotional--yes I'd go with Cinder, or maybe The False Prince. The Moon Dwellers is a fantastic book, but it was pretty intense for me!
