Nooo I love Watership Down. D: I haven't read it in like nine years though ... I've been meaning to re-read it.

message 5152: by Becky (new)

Becky (bek11) | 451 comments Well, maybe I'll pick it up again some day. I haven't been reading much lately, so maybe I'm just in a reading funk. Hopefully, nice weather and no more school (for the kids) will fix that.

I have a groundhog under my shed Becky (and had squirrels in my attic) so I feel your pain!

Bahahaha! yes, it might be linked to a rodent invasion! I loved the book, but I wasn't dealing with rodents...

Hello! If anyone has any books from the tbr pile you would like to suggest for our July read poll please go to the July thread and list them. Karen has named a few but I would like at least 5 to start a poll. Thanks!!

Just headed over there to suggest a couple things. ;)

Anyway, right now I'm a little more than halfway through:

Shadow and Bone (The Grisha, #1) by Leigh Bardugo

I'm enjoying it so far!

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 65 comments Starting Days of Blood & Starlight (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #2) by Laini Taylor and I am SO excited about it.

Did you like the first book Cassi? I was not as in love with it as a lot of other people were so I have skipped the second one for now.

Finished:

Shadow and Bone (The Grisha, #1) by Leigh Bardugo

Pretty good! I was especially invested in the very beginning and then in like ... the last half. There was a part between there that was kind of uneventful where I started to get a bit bored. But then things picked up again and it didn't quite turn out how I expected. So ... yeah, I liked it in the end and I'm looking forward to reading the next one. :)

Next I will be reading an ARC of:

Data Runner by Sam A. Patel

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 65 comments I really enjoyed the first book which surprised me because paranormals normally aren't my thing. Its been so long I can't remember specifically why though, lol.

I'm just excited to be reading something on my TBR list (finished an e-ARC quicker than expected so I had time). I thought this was a duology but I just checked and there's another book. DARN. Sometimes you just want to finish something ya know.

Yup. I find it harder and harder to commit to new series. It seems like the stand alone book if fading away. It seems like people who liked the first book (Daughter of S&B) really liked the second one so you should be good :)

Ooooo I bought this at the local library sale and need to read it. I know Cassi likes this series. I actually listed this as a possible July group read in the hopes that I would get to it finally!

I'm enjoying it so far the funny thing is when I was growing up the street I lived in was called Cheyne Walk so it was a strange coincidence when I first started reading it.

It is excellent on audio. I think David mentioned it had too much swearing and stuff for him so be warned it is a more mature YA book.

Yeah, I'm a prude which is why I mostly read YA. But sometimes even that gets too crude for me!

Finished Lies (Gone, #3) by Michael Grant really liked that one.

I went ahead and got book 2 from the library, Heidi. This seems like a quick read so I should be finished soon and can start next week or whenever you're ready. Yaay.. a buddy read with Heidi!! Normally you've already read all our books or aren't interested. ;-)

OK Karen & David! I went to my library and put a hold on The Dead of Night (Tomorrow, #2) by John Marsden audiobook and the print copy of Flesh and Bone (Benny Imura, #3) by Jonathan Maberry (because they did not release this one on audiobook and it makes me mad!) I should be all ready for buddy reads (hopefully) whenever my library gets them in for me!
