What are you currently reading?
Yup, Lloyd, I'd say if you are looking for fulfilling entertainment, The Book Thief is way up on my list. I'd even go as far as to say one of the best books I've read in... well, a very long time!

I think I will stick with my earlier decision to skip it - sorry David!

Your call!
Hmmm. I might still read it, but it's not that high on my priorities list.
Right now I'm almost done with:
It's pretty good. Light, fun reading. :)
And I need to get back to:
P.S. To all you Angelfall fans, Susan Ee is doing a Q&A on Goodreads! So if you have any questions for her, you can ask them in this group. :D

My only question to her (Susan) is when the hell book two is coming out!

Hahaha, I'm sure a lot of people are asking that question. XD (Also, I think it's coming out on October 10th.)
Hi everyone! It's been quite a while: But I recently finished:
and it was awesome. It's LDS fiction, so probably not many of you are terribly interested in reading it, but it was fantastic :D I also recently read
, the second Legend book, and it was flippin' fantastic. And then I read
and thought that it was positively terrible. Gah. Hated it. but I had to read it for English (Why? WHY? WHYYYYY?) Now I'm reading
,
, and
I've been reading Necromancing the Stone for a while, and I just can't seem to get into it like I did the others. Crossed is an easy, light read and I don't hate it. A Monster Calls is freakin awesome.

Hahaha! Yes, it's my only question too, and the answer should be 6 months ago!

I finished up
and liked it overall! But then I love sci-fi and alien takeover apocalypses! ;-PNow re-reading
and just started the audio of

I love the Cassidy Jones series! The 3rd one just came out.
Bad Bluemoon (says the person who read reviews of the same book so also knew what was going to happen!) Enjoy!

Ooh I have that on my Kindle, I'll read soon!!
I have just finished a shade of vampire by Bella Forrest and loved it, it was not at all like I expected.
Nearly half way through
haven't had much time to take much notice of it being I'm a new mum of a 5 month old :) so I only get to read for 45mins when he is asleep but so far I'm liking it although Mclean does ramble on a bit about descriptions etc.
Started reading
. Not quite the book I expected to find myself into right now, but I'm just going with it.I also used an iTunes gift certificate my sister got me for my birthday last night to buy the Locke & Key digital comics (which were on sale until through today). I've read the first four volumes, but like them so much I know I'll re-read them. So I started my re-read of those last night with
. This is probably the best horror comic I've read in decades. And it's been even better the 2nd time around. (Can't wait to get to the "new" stuff!)
Rani I tried one Dessen book awhile back and don't think she is for me - are you a fan?
Pragya and Emma I haven't heard of any of your reads!
David you haven't read Rot & Ruin??

Heidi (Seriously. Trust me.) wrote: "What is Pure about Karen??"It's 9 years after nuclear bombs went off and the Pures refer to those who survived intact from the fallout inside the "dome". Those who survived but who were outside the dome are the "wretched". The descriptions of the wretched are horrifying! They're "fused" with items they were holding, or next to, including each other. The pure MC has just escaped from the dome. I'm about a third in. The narrators are good.

Bluemoon!! Heheheh.. I can't believe you peeked at the ending!

Of course I have ;) Blue was referring to the sequel, I still have to read that one!
Bluemoon wrote: "PRAGYA: I thought that was Simon Cowell on the book, at first glance. I think I've been watching to much X factor. hahaha..."Ha ha, Bluemoon. Yeah, I guess you probably overdid the X factor viewing. :)
Heidi,
wasn't much good to write home about so it's just as well you haven't heard of it.
Finished:
It was pretty good. Kind of middle-grade for my taste I think, but it was still a fun read.
I'm getting more into:
Not really sure where it's going, but it's been getting a lot better as it goes along!

David I plan to use some of the $10 GC I won from your group to buy the 3rd Rot & Ruin book (I already used part of the GC to buy
Fire Country *squee*)
Fire Country *squee*)
Aww yay! I'm so glad you'll get some books you've been looking forward to with the gift card ;) Maybe we could read it together too!! And thank you so much for all the support, I literally get teary-eyed when I think about what you all have done for me :)
Awww shucks David! I've done nothing (I feel like a Jewish grandmother here!)
Ooooo yay! Maybe I can actually participate in a buddy read for once! I always feel so left out in your group since I either already read the buddy reads or don't plan on reading them (at least not yet)!!

I always hope you'll participate, we'll have to find more that fit with your book list since we like a lot of the same ones too :)
I'll keep looking David - I am sure I will find at least one (I will be a month behind your 5th wave read so I will check in there when I l read that one in June)
Double squee! I nearly forgot to use some of my gift card to buy Vered's second Dragon & Myth book. That has since been rectified with my purchase of
. And I still have a little left for Flesh & Bone - yay! Thanks again David!

Lol yayyyy!! You're so welcome :) You're as deserving a member as I could ever think of to win member of the month!!! Enjoy ;)
So I'm not only working on
and
, but I also started rereading another long-time favorite illustrated science fiction story,
in anticipation of my recent Amazon purchase of
. This story has stuck with me for 30 years and is still just as great to this very day.Oh yeah, all you Chaos Walking fans checked this out?
www.chaoswalkingstories.com
There is a link where they will email you the new short stories offered in the latest printings of the books. One is The New World that was already offered via Amazon Kindle, but there are two other ones I can't wait to read! Only downside (for me) is that they have to be read on-line and I can't put them on my Kindle.
Oh yes, I saw the new Chaos Walking short stories! But yeah, it's annoying that you have to read them online ... I wish they were free for Kindle like The New World was. Bleh.
I signed up for them thinking they'd send me the downloadable shorts and was disappointed when I saw it was online only. I haven't read them, I lost interest because it was only online.

I'm working through a book a local writer gave me to read - it's not up on Goodreads, I'll have to tell him to get on! It's about 5 youth caught up in tribal clashes. Based on real events. Fascinating in a horrific sort of way.

I won't give up entirely on YA. And yes, Heidi, I will eventually read The Book Thief. :)
