Stephen (havan) | 22 comments Most book to screenplay adaptations end up cutting a LOT to fit the timeframe. What additions did you catch that you enjoyed/hated?

My favorite:
Bella nails Jacob with the truck door the first time she opens it. It was a great way to communicate Bella's innate clumsiness without having to dwell on it. It also foreshadows a lot of future hurts.

My Least favorite addition:

The whole pepper spray bit. Charlie gives it to her. asks her if she has it before the date. Tells her that he's refilled it.

My least favorite change:

The dialogue bit about Charlie getting Bella new tires for the truck. - In the book Charlie had gotten up early and put snow chains on Bella's tires. She only discovered them when she got to school, which caused her to be in position to get squished by Tyler's van. I loved the additional time that Charlie would have devoted to Bella in putting on the chains. Also the irony that his act of caring actually endangers her life.

Least Favorite Omission:
The blood typing scenes. This was one of my favorite parts of the book and it never made it to the movie.

Stephen (havan) | 22 comments Please note: The comments above all refer to Bella nailing Jacob with the truck door. The other bits I edited into the post later.

Doesn't anyone else have any favorite additions/omissions?

I'm not to keen on the way they made the movie of twilight. I love the book so much that I was really disappointed with all the changes. I think they could of left out the killings and added more dialog between Edward and Bella.
I could moan about the film all day. The book is amazing and I never get board of it, I just wish that the film was more like the book.

Stephen (havan) | 22 comments Ah yes, but that's true of any book one loves. The movie seldom measures up. I started this topic though because I WAS impressed with the whole Bella smacks Jake with the truck door bit. It was a great way to reveal Bella's clumsiness visually without having to dwell on it.

I agee with that it did make giggle when she hit him with the door. I did like the way they introduced the cullens.

Kayla Duff I loved that they had the car scene in there, but I don't think it fit at all with what was in the book. And I'm really mad that they didn't put in the part at Edward's house where he and the others were joking about making her dinner. I was looking forward to that so much. :P

AlbertaJenn I liked the greenhouse scene. I thought that it wrapped up all the time in the car and during lunch in the cafeteria into one scene nicely.

And I really wasn't all that sad that they left out the bloodtyping scene. All it really showed was the irony that a girl who is squeemish around blood fell for a vampire. And really, aren't most teenage girls sqeemish around blood?

Kayla Duff Oh! I actually am sad they left out that part, that was one of the things I had wanted to see in the movie.

Not really. None of my friends are, and neither am I.

Emm (emmatebby) | 14 comments My favourite scene - would be when edward saves bella from the car hitting her. Just could not take my eyes off of the screen.

My least favourite addition... hmmm.. i did'nt really like the beginning how akward it was with her and her dad... i know it was in the book... i just did'nt really like it. It was much better in the book

My least favourite change.... that some scenes in the book were not added to the film. things like the bloodtyping purely because edward takes her to the nurse and pratically picks her up in a matter of seconds and runs off.

my least favourite omisson. they did'nt show the part when tyler asks her to the dance, and a couple others... they only showed mike... i thought that scene in the book was funny. oh well.
