this book is about a doctor a sub and it's captin this book was about a captin that would go to war with any kind of ship!!!!

Really well written and interesting book...though the climax is abrupt where no details are divulged to the public about how they escaped...sometimes too much classification of marine life goes over the head...!!

"Sir, I am going to sink it."
"You will not do that?"
"I shall do it," he replied coldly. "And I advise you not to judge me, sir. Fate has shown you what you ought not to have seen. The attack has begun; go down."
and:
"I am the law, and I am the judge! I am the oppressed, and there is the oppressor! Through him I have lost all that I loved, cherished, and venerated—country, wife, children, father, and mother. I saw all perish! All that I hate is there! Say no more!"
I'll not argue as to his justification. I'm just saying that on occasion (when the ship is a warship) Nemo will deliberately set out to sink it.
As terrible as the Captain's attacks are, whether justified or not, I can't stop thinking that if I were Prof. Arronax, I would not have left him there. Perhaps he is a madman, and certainly he is driven by grief and vengeance, but at the words, "Almighty God! Enough! Enough!" I feel my heart bleeding.Of all the times he needed someone to be there and see him through his darkest hour...I hope that I would have stayed.
