I agree that was correct in this case.
I'm not sure about the general case -- some "children's editions" have most or all of the actual text of a book.

I think the confusion happens because sometimes the books are credited to the original author but in fact was adapted by someone else. So in these cases should we note "Adapted" or something in the title to make things clearer?
Also may I suggest that we list "children's editions" specifically in the don't combine section of the librarians manual?
