Cee | 7 comments As I got curious lately, I've been starting to read classics. So far I read Jane Austen's Emma, which I really enjoyed, and I'm planning to read her other books soon.

What other classics would you recommend me, that are not too hard to read (as English is not my mother tongue which makes difficult sentences hard to follow)?

LaTrica | 19 comments Little Women is good. Maybe try The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain as well.

Isn't Tolstoy quite hard to read?

Dawn (just_read01) | 27 comments Les Miserables - but I read the one translated by Jim Reimann and I think it made it much easier to understand. Loved it.
Also, I agree with Wes, Madeleine L'Engle wrote an awesome series with the Time quintet (the first is A Wrinkle in Time).

Cee | 7 comments I recently started reading the Narnia series and I quite like them. I'll give the others a try then, and I'll try reading one of Tolstoy's short stories, see how I like his style.

Thanks for the response (:

Kristopher | 10 comments Any of Mark Twain's books, The Catcher in the Rye, Lord of the Flies, any of the Bronte's books...I'm sure I could think of several others with a little more concentration.
