Les Miserables - but I read the one translated by Jim Reimann and I think it made it much easier to understand. Loved it. Also, I agree with Wes, Madeleine L'Engle wrote an awesome series with the Time quintet (the first is A Wrinkle in Time).
I recently started reading the Narnia series and I quite like them. I'll give the others a try then, and I'll try reading one of Tolstoy's short stories, see how I like his style.Thanks for the response (:

What other classics would you recommend me, that are not too hard to read (as English is not my mother tongue which makes difficult sentences hard to follow)?
