Aeon | 3 comments I read this book series back in the early 90s and have been trying to find it for years. It was a fantasy series maybe a trilogy but not sure. In the first novel there was an evil wizard/warlock who forged a sword of power and had the young man who became the hero forge the hilt. Then the hero stole the sword. In the second novel in the series the hero creates a gauntlet with a gem in the palm that can absorb, amplify, and project anything directed at it. Gauntlet was meant to counter the sword I think.

No, I have the Darksword Trilogy and re-read it just recently to check. But thanks for the help.

Mir | 805 comments Could it be one of Orson Scott Card's Alvin Maker books? I haven't read them but they are fantasy and some of the covers show a guy forging things.
