Steampunk is a subgenre of speculative fiction, usually set in an anachronistic Victorian or quasi-Victorian alternate history setting. It could be described by the slogan "What the past would look like if the future had happened sooner." It includes fiction with science fiction, fantasy or horror themes. got this from urbandictionary.com

Oh, I wasn't sure what I saw. I thought it was a victorian lady with an umbrella. It reminded me of Mary Poppins. When I first saw her though, I thought it was a tree. I have a huge tree across my back.
Heather wrote: "I have a new question...When can we change our avatar? Bill is so last week."LOL I so agree Heather!!!!!!!
Now a question for you. Who is the cutie on your avatar?
He looks about 16 but he is still super cute!
Ya, Ya... Ive been waiting on suggestions for a new pic... So far I have only had one... I can change it to that, just for you Heather.

He loo..."
Sidney Crosby. He may have been 16 in the pic, not sure. He'll be 23 in August though, so totally legal...if not a little gross.
A gal can dream.

'Tis already done... A nice, yummy pic of Eric, a great big piece of Viking, vampire man meat! Just for ya darling.
Hockey, I should have known you are a Canadian after all. Yeah he is just a little to young for me. He has the cutest baby face.
I have a bit of a problem when it comes to Sid the Kid. I'm waiting for my local chapter of "Sidney Cros-oholic Anonymous" to begin.
I have been noticing my eyes wandering more and more to the younger..(20's) cuties... I think it's my refusal to believe I am getting O-L-D... GAWD!!! Cougar Much??? Good thing I am happily married, and would NEVER act on it... Just good eye candy on the T.V Screen.
OMG, Shell...last night I was goal judge at our local BCHL hockey game (Whoot Whoot, let's go Cents!!)...I think these boys range from 17-21ish...let's just say, the one's with facial hair had to be legal, right? They were ca-ute!!
LOL Ladies! I have a friend who jokes and says she like them young but they have to be legal. But she never acts on that theory.
Had a major crush about 2 years back on the assistant tennis pro (helper basically) at our club. Thought he was so cute knew he was young thinking 20/21. One day he comes in and says it is his Birthday he was turning 18. Ummmmmmmmm WHAT!!! That is just wrong and I never looked at him twice again can you say JAIL BAIT!
Oh and I won't even tell you how old I felt after that. Full disclosure I was 34!!
LMAO... Awesome.. So we're not the only creepy couger-esqe one's out there Heather... OUR GOODREAD FRIENDS ROCK!!!

I second the statement that you are NOT old, I do however completely understand where the thought process comes from... I feel OLD at 32.
LOL. I have a friend who is a few weeks older than I am, we are both 29. She is dreading turning 30. But I could care less.
30 didn't bother me... at all. 31 did.. it was quite strange. Now I'll be 33 in January.. and that just sucks.. But I guess it's better than the alternative.

Kelly wrote: "Well I still feel like I'm in my 20's until I look in the mirror! LOL:-)"
Oh Kelly that is not true.

What's the alternative?"
Not turning 33.. Lol.
What's the alternative?"
Not turning 33.. Lol.
Okay...turning 30 was a breeze for me. I just turned 32 (btw, a friend gave me 26 brand-spanking new books for my d-day!!) and this birthday was the hardest one of my life. I was even depressed and had a little cry about it the night before, which I don’t understand because I’m pretty happy with who I am right now.Kelly, you are hilarious. I love your story and it made me consider this little tidbit:
I would never act on any thoughts that I have about a much younger guy (well, I desperately want a guy who's 4 years younger than me and Jamie was that much younger than Claire, so it's all good), but I have to admit...when I see these beautiful young men around me, I forget that I'm actually an old lady now. I genuinely feel early 20's (cool and totally hip with the “now”) and then am totally mystified as to where the time's gone when I remember how old I really am. I think that’s normal though and healthy; if I went around lamenting about being in my 30’s, I’d be depressed and develop a complex.
I feel like now is the prime time of my life and I’m creating new hobbies for myself because I feel that I’m so comfortable in my skin (finally!!) that I can truly enjoy the little things in life...hence my volunteer time at our local hockey club. Getting out there a couple times a week and letting my hair down can only be a benefit to my social life, private life, self-esteem and general outlook on how everything’s grooving along in my little world, right?
I agree Heather. I think 30's will be better than 20's. And 26 new books... what an awesome friend!!!!!
Plant the seed early, Shell. Not sure if Carly stocks up for a bit or if she grabs them all at once.
Do you mean the bookshelf for this Group? If you do, it's where you would shelve books that you read every month - if you do group reads, for example.
Otherwise, if you were to read a book that you thought was fantabulous and wanted all of us to read, you could shelve it on the group bookshelf so everyone could see it right away, rather than having to go through your bookshelves or to search the book by title.
