RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Google, by the way, changed their name to "Topeka" for the day, because Topeka, a few weeks ago, said they'd change their name to "Google" if Google built a high-speed network there...

janine | 7709 comments there is a bookperfume if you want to give your kindle that nice book smell.

smetchie | 4034 comments My co-worker just got a Kindle. She has a photographic memory and she theorizes that it won't work with a Kindle. She thinks that kind of memory needs cues from other senses like touch and smell in order to work. Does anyone here have a photographic memory and a Kindle? If so, what's the deal? (I guess this belongs in "someone else wants to know" but I was here when I thought of it so there you go)

janine | 7709 comments i don't have a real photographic memory but i do have a pretty good visual memory. it works the same for books and webpages (somewhere on the right, blue text etc.) so i don't think there's a difference.

Sarah | 13814 comments I've always wondered if I would have been as good in school in this day of reading-on-screens. My powers of recall have always been tied to a picture of the page in my mind.

Jaimie (jaimie476) | 664 comments Kevin, you got me! LOL!

I have a photographic memory but no Kindle.I agree with Gretchen's friend's theory. I used to like to listen to music while I read and to this day, when I hear certain songs I can see scenes of books in my head. For instance, when I was reading the first three "Vampire Chronicles" when I was a teenager I was on a Police kick at the time. Certain songs like "Message in a Bottle" and "Spirits in the Material World" always put scenes from those books in my head.

Me too Jaimie on the songs and books deal. Not a big Police fan.
