Currently Reading? Just Finished?
If Sandra is playing the mother, I bet the film will concentrate on the boy's story. The book is about 1/2 the boy's story and 1/2 the story of his grandfather and grandmother. That's fine by me because the boy's story is by far the most engaging part of the book. I can easily picture Tom Hanks as the boy's father!
Right now I'm reading a British book, The Tourist , by Jack Everett and David Coles. So far I'm really enjoying it. Lots of action and suspense. What happens when a "mental" tourist posing as his own brother shows up in England and the police have to find him? Oh, and this tourist has already... Well, I don't want to give the story away.

Sacred Evil

Jannene..i have read all of her books and loved them. Happy reading :)
I just finished reading Evil at Heart by Chelsea Cain. I thought this one was much improved upon the previous installment. Now I'm starting The Night Strangers: A Novel by Chris Bohjalian before I read The Lincoln Lawyer for our groupread.
Have just started
This is the fourth book in the PI Michael Kelly series. I like them because they are set in Chicago and I recognize all the places he talks about.

Thanks Kimberly! I read about a book a week and hope to have The Sinner done by next weekend. I bought her book bundle of this series since it was so cheap for all 8 books.
I'd love to read more but I have a full time job and am a part time student. Between the two, I'm very busy.
I was the same way. As long as you enjoy it, it doesn't matter how often you read. My daughter is in college, and works and it takes her a while to finish a book.
Just finished "The Surgeon" by Tess Gerritsen. Thanks guys for the recommedation. What a great read. Can't wait until I can get the next one.
I am currently reading Only Time Will Tell by Jeffrey Archer which I got through GR. It is really really good so far.
Kimberly wrote: "I was the same way. As long as you enjoy it, it doesn't matter how often you read. Plus, it helps me unwind...sort of...depends on where you are in the book. ;)
I've just started a Chief Inspector Morrissey mystery, the first I've read, Lively Form Of Death by Kay Mitchell. I'll pick an bedtime book when I get back home..
Found We All Fall Down disappointing. Not to into bio terrorism. Have started The Twelfth Enchantment and The Hand That Trembles.

Thanks for that Fiona. I've read pretty well all of the Grant County books, now I just have to get the others done.
Just finished "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil"http://www.amazon.com/gp/cdp/member-r...
check out my review.

I'm currently enjoying Shatter by Michael Robotham. It's the second book I've read in this series and its another treat!
Susan wrote: "I am currently reading Only Time Will Tell by Jeffrey Archer which I got through GR. It is really really good so far."I am reading this as well (also got through GR). I am really enjoying it!
I just finishedA Killing Frost by Patricia Wynn. This is the most recent book in the series. They are set in 1700s England and feature a nobleman who lost his title after he was wrongfully accused of killing his father. His title is taken over by an unscrupulous cousin, and the nobleman works to regain his good name. All the mysteries in the series are a lot of fun, and include a bit of romance.
I just started
by Lisa Scottoline, not really a mystery, but pretty good so far, I am listening to this one and only on disc 2.
Reading New York to Dallas. Woot! It's a crying shame J.D. Robb books only last about 24 hours with me.
I just finished Sacred Evil
. This is the third book in the Krewe of Hunter series. I posted my review on goodreads and my blog http://kimbathecaffeinatedbookreviewe...
I have just started
by Andrew Taylor but I have just been given
so now I don't know which to read first.

those are both GOOD!
Ally wrote: "Just finished Hanging Hill by Mo Hayder. I do like this author. She's so good at keeping you in suspense all the way through. Didn't know she had a new one out.
Currently reading two books at the moment: Winter Garden by Kristen Hannah (as free in store reading at B&N)
American Rust by Phillip Meyer
I have to say, I'm enjoying Winter Garden much better so far!
The Shape of Snakes by Minette Walters. Disappointing. I read one other by her before some years ago, so I was expecting better. Her criminals felt real, but the friendships between the people who had been neighbors, and who were now tied together in the main character's search for truth, were unbelievable. I never felt any good reason why some of the people whose lies were exposed should decide to like the heroine who exposed them. In the end, I felt the plot didn't hold together in rationality.
Lisa S wrote: "I'm starting Winter Prey today."I'm a fan of the Lucas Davenport books and I think this is the best of the series.

I'm a fan of the Mary Russell books. My experiences with a writer using a popular character have not been good, with the exception of the Robert Goldsborough Nero Wolfe books and the Mary Russells. (I think of every attempt to add to the James Bond books and shudder.)
Many of the writers who write Sherlock Holmes stories seem 1) to have never read the originals, 2) don't like Holmes (Phillip Jose Farmer's "The Adventure of the Peerless Peer"), and 3) have no understanding of the character.
King treads on dangerous ground, marrying off Holmes to Russell later. I think she pulls it off. When she adds to the Canon, it seems in character for Holmes.
The books aren't 'page turners', at least to me. They have a somewhat leisurely pace that matches what Doyle did.
I'm eagerly awaiting the newest in the series, "Pirate King."
I just finished rereading The Lincoln Lawyer and am currently listening to Helter Skelter, which has just come out on audio for the first time. Yes, yes, I know it is non-fiction but it reads like a novel and I am enjoying it immensely.
I just finished my first Chief Inspector Morrissey mystery and enjoyed very much, Lively Form Of Death by Kay Mitchell. I'm now moving onto a Fantasy (but also sort of a mystery), Tanya Huff's The Blood Books, Volume II.
Bea wrote: "I just finished rereading The Lincoln Lawyer and am currently listening to Helter Skelter, which has just come out on audio for the first time. Yes, yes, I know it is no..."Helter Skelter is in a class of its own. When I first read it, right after it was published, Charlie and his "family" were all safely in prison. Yet I couldn't stop reading until they were in jail in the book! I enjoy true crime but two books stand above all others in the category IMO: In Cold Blood and Helter Skelter.
I'm not sure if I'll finish Pottsdam Station next, or just go on to the four Mistress of Death series by Ariana Franklin!
I have read the BeeKeeper's Apprentice and liked it verymuch. It keeps Sherlock ALIVE and Mary is fun. I will find the next book and read it. Did you notice that in
the foreward Mary signs her name MJH???????? Got to read the next book. Must tell you about one of my favorite writers if you haven't read any of his books.
Frank Tallis. I am on the 5th book of his Doctor Lieberman series. Excellent. Begin with A Death In Vienna. Maybe there can be a chat with him one day. I've never been involved or know how to do that, but if he is on, I might try.
Tad wrote: "I'm about halfway through The Beekeeper's Apprentice. It's so good to solve a mystery with Holmes again, and I love Mary Russell as well!"I need to try that book. It sounds good, and it is a series. I am a series addict!

I just finished These Things Hidden
by Heather Gudenkauf. I have also read her book
The Weight of Silence. Both books were excellent. I will always watch for books she has written.
Finished Unmentionables and will probably rate it 3 stars. Had both elements I liked and didn't like in it, but didn't really grab in a way that made me enthused in a big way.

I love the Frank Tallis books. Such great historical data as well as mysteries. Such a great old world atmosphere.

Tom is supposed to play the boys father so I'm guessing Sandra will be the mother.
