(blinking at Jennifer) You don't like Will Patton? REALLY? Hmmmm...I, too, liked Hammer, especially his interpretation of Clete Purcel,but all in all I think Patton's narrations are much better. Burke's prose read by Will is like some form of southern crack for the eardrums! LOL! But, that's just my opinion, of course.

I, also, prefer Luke Daniels narrations of the Elvis Cole novels. He hasn't been reading them for very long, but I doooo love his voice work with these books! Very laid-back California...

FinishedAll The Pretty Girls last night. I think I need to read/listen to a couple more just to be sure of my opinion of her writing skills. (smile) I had a little trouble buying the idea of a police lieutenant in charge of homicide who is best friends with the Davidson County medical examiner, with the lieutenant winding up engaged to a well known FBI profiler, with one of the main characters involved in the story being a leading news anchor ... with all four attending Father Ryan High School at the same time? Ummm.... we're small, but we ain't that small. (grin) But otherwise a pretty good mystery.

Just finished Ice Hunter: A Woods Cop Mystery. Very good law enforcement procedural, with the main character a career Conservation Officer in northern Michigan.

Free download (still free, just checked) and a very good read. Realistic, well developed characters, an interesting main plotline and a very good sense of the people and area.

I finished Speaking from Among the Bones by Alan Bradley, the fifth Flavia de Luce mystery. Though I love Flavia this book wasn't as good as the first few in the series. The plot was rather mundane and Bradley's humor and inventiveness diminished somewhat in this book.
