John Harrison | 6 comments Just finished An Unexpected Twist. It is short and really funny. I am now starting Arabian Nights, again. I just love it!!

VickiLee | 483 comments I have just put down, with a sigh of contentment, The Likeness by Tana French. This is a convoluted psychological suspense novel, heavy with characterization.

Mark Chisnell (markchisnell) | 136 comments Just finished Only the Innocent by Rachel Abbott and now onto Russell Blake's Jet I... both good books, reviews to come after the holidays.

Hi Tay, I recently Discovered Jeffrey Deaver, I've Read "Only time will Tell and The..."

It was good. Some really good twists in there that I didn't expect. I think his Lincoln Rhymes series is outstanding. His other works have been good too but not up to par with the Rhymes/Sach series.

Robert Kratky (bolorkay) | 28 comments So how is "The Bone Collector" by Mr. Deaver, anyone read this one?

Also , what about his James Bond book, "Carte Blanche"?

message 8956: by Laurie (new)

Laurie (tolepainter) | 52 comments Just finished Private Games by James Patterson, for some reason it won't show up, it's the beginning of a series with Mark Sullivan. It was a good book and I enjoyed it but not enough to rush out and get the next 2 in line. I'm just starting The Jungle by Clive Cussler. I got 8 books for Christmas and a gift card for my Kobo so will be doing some serious reading.

message 8957: by E.M. (new)

E.M. Powell Just finished The Silent Girl (Jane Rizzoli & Maura Isles, #9) by Tess Gerritsen

Not Gerritsen's finest, but still a really good read.

I enjoyed the Bone Collector very much, Bob. In fact, I've read quite a few of the Lincoln Rhymes/ Amelia Sachs books, all interesting..

I'm currently reading Deception on His Mind (Inspector Lynley, #9) by Elizabeth George and A Man Lay Dead by Ngaio Marsh .

And, if you weren't aware, Bone Collector was made into a movie quite a few years ago...I see it playing on TV periodically....

Hope you enjoy it, Rachel. I really loved that book.

message 8963: by Jannene (new)

Jannene | 775 comments I just finished Iron Orchid by Stuart Woods. It wasn't as great as the others in the series. I would give it a 3.5 if I could. Also, like the others in the series the title of the book is attached in the book which explains how the author got the name. This one left me hanging. The villian really didn't seem like one and you kind of didn't really care what happened throughout the book. This gave made me feel it lacked suspense. I hope the last one is better.

message 8964: by Tay (new)

Tay | 261 comments I finished Demolition Angel by Robert Crais. It's a stand alone that doesn't feature Elvis Cole or Joe Pike. Highly recommended! It was excellent.

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if you happen to know an author who is very similar to James Patterson's writing style and technique. Thank you for your time and help!

thanks!

message 8974: by Aiesha (new)

Aiesha (bigtexasaj) I haven't posted my current readings in a while. I'm still trucking along in 3 different series, In Death by JD Robb, Harry Bosch by Michael Connelly, and Rainie & Qunicy aka FBI Profiler series by Lisa Gardner. I finished Still Missing by Chevy Stevens Still Missing and Portrait in Death (In Death, #16) by J.D. Robb Portrait in Death over the holiday. The In Death books are always great & funny, whereas Still Missing was a little disturbing but good. I just couldn't imagine myself going through all she went through!

I'm now reading the 5th Harry Bosch, Trunk Music (Harry Bosch, #5) by Michael Connelly Trunk Music and the 2nd FBI profiler, The Third Victim by Lisa Gardner The Third Victim. This year, I'd really like to finish the Bosch series and start the Kay Scarpetta Series by Patricia Cornwell. We'll see how that goes since I can have a solid plan of action and easily get distracted if I see something else good. I just can't get enough! :)
