I've read a couple of books by James Patterson. Some I've loved, o..."
If it wasn't so hectic around here, I would of read it quicker. Was an ok read x
Just finished the second book in a new series by a new to me author. Got the first as a free download West of Westernand the minute I finished I went looking for the second Along the Ravenswoodand started that immediately. That doesn't happen too often for me but really like what this author does with her characters, a very deft touch between tough but not aggressive and a very believable not-police/not-P.I. female investigator.
Just finished reading Iain Rob Wright's thriller ASBO. It was excellent. Here's a review I wrote over at my website: http://bryanwalaspa.com/2012/12/27/re...#
Started Seven Locks: A Novel
and not to sure about this one yet. Hasn't quite grabbed me, but only on page 30 so will give it time.
Reading The Racketeer.
by Grisham and enjoying it. It's not quite as exciting as his other books were.....YET! I'm waiting for some type of twist!!
Just finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling. That completed my goal of rereading the Potter series this year. Currently reading Hercule Poirot's Christmas by Agatha Christie. Nothing like a good Christmas murder!
Just finished The Drop
by Michael Connelly. Another excellent story in the Harry Bosch series. Now I'll be able to start on the Dec/Jan group read of The Black Box!
That sounds like a good book Lisa S! Has anyone read Water for Elephants?I'm currently reading Never Tell by Alafair Burke!
Just read Nemesis by Jo Nesbo - interweaving of plots was a bit confusing, but well worth the read. Now for something lighter...a bit of Andrea Camilleri and The Track of Sand.

I was pleasantly surprised by Water for Elephants - an excellent read.
Finished N is for Noose by S. Grafton and started Godplayer by Robin Cook. I've not read Robin Cook before and really like his writing. I'm glad he has a lot of other books too...
Currently reading I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga, which was recommended by a Goodreads friend. I'm enjoying it a lot so far and it has pulled me out of the reading slump I was in.
I finished reading a book I last read twenty years ago, “Watchers” by Dean Koontz. I believe my intense love for animals began after I first read that book. A movie was made from the book, but the movie was so different, I didn’t care for it at all.I also read, "A Miracle For Charlie", by Carolann Hays...it's a short story, and I loved it. I am following her very closely, and have read everything she has written so far. I can't wait for her next book.
I'm half way through Deception on His Mind and enjoying. Hoping I'll finish by the end of Dec so I can start afresh in the new year.. :0)
Just got finished reading the second book in the Richard Paladin series Clean Coal Killers
by David E. Manuel, which I greatly enjoyed (the second book was better than the first and the first wasn't bad either) and now I'm starting on the first book in Lawrence Block's light-hearted Burglar series
Burglars Can't Be Choosers
Maurice wrote: "The forgotten is a great follow on to Zero Day. It reintroduces John Puller and his dysfunctional military family. A good book to lose yourself in for a few hours!"Better or worse than Zero Day?

Love Water for Elephants- one of my favorite books. Loved it so much that I won't see the movie... don't want to ruin the experience.
just finished
which was pretty good. But I was slightly disappointed. I loved
and expected the second book to be as good.
Just finished reading Michael Connelley's Trunk Music. I am a great fan of the Harry Bosch series and trying to read them in series order. I was pleased with this book and liked it much more than the previous one I read-Last Coyote. Like the new captain, Grace Billets and was surprised about the return of Harry's former girlfriend. Taking a break from Harry for now as I am currently reading a book in response to a challenge in another group.

I'm usually the same Jessica, but this time I saw the movie too, and loved it...they were both great:)
Just finished Hercule Poirot's Christmas by Agatha Christie. Starting next Watching The Dark by Peter Robinson. I won it in a GR giveaway.
I have just finished listening to Let The Dead Lie
. A story well told. It is narrated by Humphrey Bower. I have listened to him narrating Australian books and always been a bit distracted by his accent; he sounds like an Australian putting on an Australian accent! (A bit too much Vegemite on the sandwich, mate.) However, his narration of Let the Dead Lie was nothing short of brilliant. He switched effortlessly from one accent to the next and presented the story beautifully.
Maurice wrote: "Better than Zero Day. The story is more believable and you care more for the characters."cool, I'll put it on my TBR in that case, I was going to give Puller a miss from now on, but sounds like he's worth another go!
Linda wrote: "Just finished reading Michael Connelley's Trunk Music. I am a great fan of the Harry Bosch series and trying to read them in series order. I didn't really care for Terry McCaleb.
I am currently reading Kathy Reich's, Deja Dead. If you are a fan of the tv show, Bones and CSI, I have no doubt you will enjoy this book. Wishing you all the best! Déjà Dead
Tay wrote: "I finished The Burning Wire by Jeffery Deaver. I'm now reading Demolition Angel by Robert Crais."Hi Tay, I recently Discovered Jeffrey Deaver, I've Read "Only time will Tell and The sins of the Father
Looking forward to reading more by him. How was Burning Wire??
Been traveling for the holidays so I listened to The Fifth Floor and read A Cold Day For Murder on the tablet that Santa brought me.

Hi Jannene. I did enjoy it but you have to remember it was written about 20 years ago so there are a few things that are out of date. Still the characters and the setting are very interesting. I'll check out some of the more recent ones in the series.
