Currently Reading? Just Finished?
I'm in the middle of a Philip Kerr novel
at the moment. I do like it that the criminal investigation is played out in the midst of the rise of the despicable Nazi regime in 1930s Germany. It adds to the tension.
I've just finished Road Closed - Leigh Russell and now thinking of reading Chasing Amanda - Melissa Foster.
I've recently become a fan of Jeffrey ArcherI Just read 2 of the Clifton Chronicles > Book 1 > only time will tell and Book 2 > Sins of the Father
Book 3 doesn't come out til 2013 so I'm Listening to an Audio of Prisoner of Birth.
Just about finished with Time to Murder and Create
. Also have He Died With His Eyes Open
going right now.P.S. If any of you folks like Jo Nesbø, Amazon has the kindle versions of Nemesis, The Redbreast and The Devil's Star for under 4 dollars.

Love Matt Scudder novels. They are my favorite.
Finished Edge of Black Edge of Black which was pretty good, had a little too much going on. But do think this will be a very good new series for Ellison. Now reading Detroit Breakdown
> I am always fascinated by mysteries that occur in insane asylums.

Right now I am stepping far outside my comfort zone and reading The Shining. I am very nervous because I am a big chicken and cannot handle scary stuff!

Lawrence Block and his Scudder books. But now that I'm here, I'm loving them!

Not sure where you are, but in the US they were published out of order. So I guess we are already screwed up.

I read them out of sequence and it was okay.

Marie, I've always been a fan of Jeffrey Archer and collect and read everyone of his books. He's great! Definitely read those early ones.

I'm currently in the market for a new book to read. I'm new to the detective/mystery series stuff. Only familiar with Alex Cross by James Patterson. Anyone recommend a good series I could start?

Kristen, there are so many I love! Lee Child's Jack Reacher series, C.J Box, Daniel Silva, Vince Flynn, Catherine Coulter's FBI series, David Rosenfelt's Andy Carpenter series and his stand alone books, Preston & Child Pendergast series, these are some of my favorites.

I see big photos in the update status and I wonder how its done.
I just finished The Last Man , and, it might very well be the best mystery/thriller I've read this year! Definitely the best book in the series thusfar, in my opinion!!

How do you make a status to begin with?
Autumn, June, Temple - I'm pretty sure that Hayes set up a Tech assistance thread, including inserting pictures. Although I think that was beyond my technical abilities.

Well I liked the book. As I can see around here, not everyone did, but I found it intriguing enough to read it in every spare time I had. If I judge the book by the desire to get to the end to "find out who did it", I must say this one hit me. The beginning was pretty tense and so was the rest of the book. I couldn't quite get into the hypnosis seances thing, I found it quite unbelievable but maybe it's just me. And yes, as someone here said, the sexual involvement of some characters was quite inappropriate to the situation but it didn't spoil the story. All in all, it isn't a bad read, go ahead and read it. You may like it or you may not, don't believe what others say because likeliness is always pretty subjective thing. It is only one way to find out :-)
I finished my reread of the first Enzo Files. Read two novels about ballet, unplanned. I am now on to the second Enzo, "The Critic" and will take a break to read others and then back to Enzo #3. It seems most people in this group stick to mystery, etc. I have to mix it up.
Just finished Shelter a young adult book by Harlan Coben. What a great story, had me completely hooked. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.
I just finished
and it was a very good book. The ending makes you wonder what she is going to do about her dilemma of two men.

I wonder why he stopped writing this series then. The last one looks like it was written in 2009.

I have read all Stuart Woods books. I agree, I love the Holly Baker series, and now find that he brings the Holly character back in a lot of his Stone Barrington books.
