I'm a Mary Russell fan as well. Can't tell you how many times I've re-read The Beekeeper's Apprentice in particular.

I have listened to all of the Agatha Raisin books. I love Agatha -- so unlikeable and yet so sympathetic!JB wrote: "I have just finished Agatha Raisin and the Haunted House

Curly, you are catching up to me. I stopped at T is for Trespass but I stopped reading it since it wasn't that great. I should read U is for Undertow and maybe that one will be better.
I just finished
and it was pretty good. I wouldn't say it was as good as his Women's Murder Club series. It reminds me that you should always listen to your Nana. She certainly was right!
I just finished
this evening and as was the case with the other Stephanie Plum mysteries I've read so far, it was funny, a nice easy read and a solid mystery. Excellent stuff. About to start the 2nd Captain Bruno mystery now;
by Martin Walker.
I just finished
. I have heard the second book , The Likeness, is similar to
, so I'm really interested in reading it sometime soon. In the meantime, I'm going to re-read The Secret History. Also reading
Just finished Zoo by James Patterson. On to another installment in the Inspector Montalbano series by Andrea Camilleri (Author) Stephen Sartarelli (Translator) - The Voice of the Violin.
I read Step on a Crack The story line was good, and there was a twist at the end of the story. I am now reading the 2nd book in the series, Run for Your Life. The only thing that bugs me is the chapters are super short. The books are written by James Patterson and are about a police detective named Mike Bennett.
Donna wrote: "Just started Death by Chocolate for the mEastery Challenge. I was chuckling from page one."Your book threw me for a loop for a minute. I have a friend who has a book called Death by Chocolate.
Death by Chocolate It is also a funny murder mystery.
I'm on the 3rd Camilleri book, The Snack Thief. Enjoying it.Finished my first Dr. Thorndyke, The Mystery of 31 New Inn. Am going back to read his first, The Red Thumb Mark - free on kindle.

I read a couple quite some time ago, but never got back to it.
Finished Reflected in You - Sylvia Day today and then maybe start Bad Blood: A Vampire Thriller - J.R. Rain
Ctgt wrote: "Just starting Lullaby Town by Robert Crais."I'm gonna put that on my TBR list; always like Robert Crais books

I really like Cole and Pike as partners. Working my way through all the books.
Theresa wrote: "Finished reading

Just finished
. Okay, but not quite my kind of thing. More romance (pretty graphic) than suspense/mystery.
Theresa, I will always make a try on these if I can get them on the free downloads. Some work for me, the ones that focus more on the suspense/mystery than the romance interludes. This one would have worked a lot better for me if the author had cut the sex scenes by about half or 2/3 thirds and developed the suspense and paranormal storyline by that much. And along that line ... I'm also a die=hard fan of the "In Death" series by J. D. Robb. They get pretty graphic at times but the rest of the writing and the characters are so vivid that the series has me thoroughly hooked.

He has a book coming out in November called The Age of Doubt and then the 15th in the series, The Dance of the Seagull, comes out next March. I'm trying to get caught up in the series!
Face of BetrayalLis WiehlAbout one third through it OK just not my type of read. Its kind of a Chick mystery. Lots of back ground of the three main characters and their relationship to each other.
I just finished Stephen King's 11/22/63. It was FABULOUS. So well done! This may be one of my favorite books of the year.
Donna wrote: "Hi Paula, I've heard good things about Bone by Bone. The basic premise of lost children in the woods with one surviving reminds me of In the Woods by Tana French which was also very good."Hello,I've also read In the Woods and enjoyed it,have another of Tana French's to read Faithful Place but reading Jonathan Rabb at the moment.
I finishefd Night And Day by Robert B. Parker. I enjoyed revisiting Jesse Stone, chief of police in this series, but the mystery plot was kind of tepid. I was a little disappointed.
Karen wrote: "I just finished Stephen King's 11/22/63. It was FABULOUS. So well done! This may be one of my favorite books of the year."I agree Karen. Good book!
I've just started a new mystery, The Crime and the Crystal, by Elizabeth Ferrars. I've read a couple of her mysteries before and enjoyed them.
Just finished a Val McDermidA Place Of Execution, which was my first book by her but not my last. Started The Mermaids Singing The Mermaids Singing and William Bernhardt Death RowDeath Row.The beginning of Death Row catches you right off but I'm half way through and I know who did it and have an idea why, which sort of spoils it for me. Since this is a library book I want to finish it first.
I've just finished Witch Hunt by Ian Rankin. Outstanding! It may be my favorite of all I've read by him.
Just read a sample of "Big Maria" by Johnny Shaw and it was quite good with very well described characters and potential for a great plot based on the book's beginning. Will pursue reading the rest of it. Has any one read it all or Shaw's other book "Dove Season"?
I just finished Run for Your Life It is the 2nd book in the Michael Bennett series. I need to go to the actual library for book 3. I love the story lines that Patterson uses. The only thing I dont like is the super short chapters, and chapter breaks in the middle of conversations etc.
Ctgt wrote: "Just finished Lullaby Town, another good Cole/Pike story. Starting The Neon Rain."Robert Crais and James Lee Burke are two of my favorites!
Jeanie wrote: "Robert Crais and James Lee Burke are two of my favorites!"I hadn't read any Burke until our club read a few months ago. Now I'm trying to catch up.
John Lee Burke is writing crap right now. He has become a sweat shop writer. will not be long before he pulls a James Patterson and bring in ghosts to keep still going.
Heidi wrote: "I just finished Run for Your Life It is the 2nd book in the Michael Bennett series. I need to go to the actual library for book 3. I love the story lines that Patterson uses. The only thing I dont..."I gave the next book Worst Case 5 stars! I really, really liked it!!!
I can't believe how long it's been since I posted in this group! I was traveling most of September and early October(including a fun trip to Cleveland for Bouchercon). During my travels, I read The Mapping of Love and Death and really enjoyed it. I've put the first book in that series on my to-read list, so I can go back and catch up to the one I read, the 7th.
