The narrator is so far great with the voices but has problems with her pacing. Sometimes she goes a long sentence without breathing and is winded at the end.

Sounds interesting, Tim! I'll definitely get this one out of the library.

I review the books I read, if you care to read my reviews...

BTW...I have Rain Fall on my TBR too and I'm hoping to read it soon.

I started The Black Echo. It is my second book by Michael Connelly. I read the The Lincoln Lawyer but didn't really care for it. I'm hoping that Harry Bosch pulls me in since everyone says this is a good series.

I think I've read all of Coulter's FBI series except the latest one....

Its my first James Bond novel outside Ian Fleming's works."
I'd love to know what you think about this one. I read it last year and..."
Well actually its my first Jeffery Denver novel as well.
I find the novel very interesting, he did a great job at it. Through James Bond character seems less like the James Bond of Ian Fleming or the James Bond of the movies.
There are a lot of references to the original work.
Its a good book, I simply loved the way he showed today's espionage world.

An excellent choice. My favorite Hart book.

I'll keep that in mind as I read the next books. I found her accuracy of detail very reassuring.

Ditto to that, I loved that book!!

And?? Did you like them? I just realized this is a series that doesn't need to be read in order. This is good since I don't have all of them yet. ;)

I've read most of them as well and liked them. Not quite 'buy to keep' for re-reading often, but well enough to check out from the library and re-read occasionally. Very good characterization, which I enjoy.

See my review of "Night of Long Knives" here on GR.

Thanks, I'll take a look.

Yep, I liked them, and I agree with Sharon, not enough to want to keep them in the already-overflowing-stacks-of-kept-books, but even my brother requested that they stick around long enough for him to re-read.
I'm one of those that doesn't read in order, mostly because I read them when I come across them...

Finished Death of an Englishman today on the train from Montreal to Quebec. Hi to all our Canadian members! I am really enjoying my vacation here.
Enjoyed Death of an Englishman very much. Good interesting characters, the wonderful city of Florence as the setting, and lots of twists and turns in the plot. It's a police procedural but not gory or dark, more in the Hercule Poirot style of detection rather than cutting edge forensic science. I believe this book has been out of print, or at least hard to find, for awhile but it seems to be more widely available now. I recommend it for the arm chair travelers among us.

You should start with the earlier ones of Sue Grafton. I just read all through "S" and found the earlier ones before "J" are really a lot better.

I agree. I love his characters and he is one of the few authors that make me laugh out loud. I think it may be time a picked up one of his book too! Thanks for reminding me!

I have the audiobook version of Basket Case. It's my favorite Hiassen. Pure genius.
