Waiting to get my hands on a copy of The Whisperer! ::jealous::

Hi Tay, and yes, this is a trilogy.

Next I am going to read The Confession by John Grisham.
I'm almost done with Perfect Victims: Slaughter, Sensation and Serial Killers: An American Criminal Odyssey. It is definitely interesting, but I certainly do not share a lot of the author's opinions and I would have preferred if the entire thing had focussed on serial killers. I have no interest in hearing about political crimes, or murder for money.

On to Prime Time, by my Boston homey friend, Hank Ryan. Fifty pages in, and it already stands above a lot of the cozies I've read lately.

It actually came out last week. So you should be able to reserve it or buy it. It is very good, has some different characters but is very dark.

I liked The Fencing Master too, Denise. Welcome to the group and hang on to your TBR! (and your wallet, lol)

It takes a lot to scare me, but for some reason the images from MISS PEREGRINE'S did me in. But I couldn't stop paging back to them.

I love Arturo Perez-Reverte. He has no weak spots, it seems. I also really enjoyed The Queen of the South.

Loved The Fencing Masterit was the first book I read with my in person book group and is still one of my favorites. Welcome to the group.

Oh, that's great to know - thanks!

Now I'm reading How To Think Like a Neandertal, which I bought by mistake on my Kindle when I thought I was downloading a sample. Luckily, I am finding it absolutely fascinating. Then again, before the travesty that was The Land of Painted Caves, I had a serious love of the Earth's Children series. So maybe it's not a surprise that I'd find How to Think Like a Neandertal fascinating.

This one sounds interesting as I lived in Spain for 4 years in the late 60s/early 70s (military) and loved the country and the people.

I too thought the second was better than the first. The third was ok, in my opinion not as great as these two. I heard the forth is the best in the series.

Terrific book and series.

You have reminded me of how intrigued I am by Arkady Renko. I will be reading Stalin's Ghost soon!

I'm very happy that I could be of assistance! :)

Please report back on this one! I just downloaded it as part of my, "Way too long on a plane" glut of books.

Finished this one up last night. I liked it, gave it a 4 star rating ... probably 3 1/2 would be closer to exact, but I would like to read another one by this author and/or in this series, which rates a 4.
It's almost a cozy, plot revolves around a murder followed by a series of apparent accidental deaths, all summer visitors to a small New England town. I enjoyed the relaxed pacing and definitely appreciated a law enforcement officer that was sensible, intelligent and not an alcoholic, a drug abuser or trying to recover from some major life-time trauma.

Thank you! Getting stuck on a plane after having made bad reading choices is one of my biggest fears. After the Zombie Apocalypse, but before bad sushi. Definitely top five.
Good to know this one should work.

It's what I think of as a comfortable read, the kind I enjoy on a winter afternoon in front of the fire.

I just finished listening

Now I just downloaded

Is a The Passage part of trilogy? I know the second one is due out sometime this year. If I know a book is part of a trilogy then I usually wait for all three to be release and then read them back to back to back.
