i just about barfed when i read that part, so obviously chloe cannot choose a guy so repulsive. SIMON IS SUPER CUTE AND DEREK STILL HAS PIMPLES AND HE SMELLS BAD
because she was overcome with emotion at his cuteness!!!!!!! i told u that!!!!!!!!!! and chloe will start to smell too if she hangs around with derek and that is DISGUSTING so why don't you give up and join Team Simon??????
Can I just say that both guys rock and I don't care which ends up with her as long as she has a guy and that the other guy doesn't fall off the end of the earth or something, come'on they are brothers for the goddess' sake!?

you guys are nuts :P jksand i like both of them because no matter how harsh Derek may seem, he really is a nice person. and so is Simon. Just in different ways, i would really be happy if the author just kinda chose either one as long as there is not testosterone fuelled fight between the two brothers, that would suck. ^-^

Okay, how about this, anyone that says something knocking Derek's appearance or things he can hardly control, they really should come up with something better like he's a crusty old crab at heart or something. And ditto for Simon and his lack of puberty issues. Okay? At least look at the people's personalities!

Strangely enough, I think that it'll be Derek she ends up with. xD probably because I already read The Awakening.
I hate to admit it but she probably will end up with Derek because they think it is fun to put the nice people with ugly mean people.Poor Simon. =(

I was disappointed with the book overall too. Mostly because Derek is so gross and antagonistic.
*rolls eyes* Simon's a nice dude and doesn't deserve Tori as a punishment. Derek's a nice dude and does deserve Chloe for all he's been through.

Um... it's still about the Cabals, only it's about this girl, Maya, who is a sub of the Pheonix project in a town owned by the Cabals, but she doesn't know it. Just look it up on the internet.

BLAH= horrid writer. Read House of Night instead they are better written
NO! House of Night just keeps going and going and going with one very crazy plot after book... 2! Smith might not be a good writer, but neither is Stephen King! The stories are good, original, and for once don't have gross mature content stuff in it! Mind you, they were written for the most part before 2000.
