I loved the books and I still have to read the last one but we hope to do it sometime this month. I've read them with an online friend.

message 965: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) I am reading Too Close to the Sun The Audatious Life and Times of Dens Finch Hatton) by Sara Wheeler. The 1st part is pretty ho hum unless you really like English Family history and more than you ever wanted to know about the war in Africa during the 1st world war, but the amount of detail that Ms. Weeler ammassed and the detail and language is mind boggling, at least to me. She really can paint a picture and I have to admit that I have had to look up a lot of words that I have never seen in print before.

Konnie (mrsnaz) I have been WAY too buy with student teaching and have found myself in a major reading slump. So, I took advantage of the deal to get the $5 gift card and get myself in "reading mode" again. I got The History of Love by Nicole Krauss and Those Who Save Us by Jenna Blum . I just started The History of Love and it is great so far.

Plus I forgot how you need your hands to hold the book open so the pages don't move on you

message 978: by TJ (new)

TJ (coachtim30) | 6 comments I just finished Torment by Jeremy Bishop by Jeremy Bishop. It's a different kind of zombie yarn that's not one I would highly recommend. Like a Roman Candle, it has an impressive takeoff, but fizzles for most of the trip.

I read A Game of Thrones earlier in the year on my Nook and really liked it. I wasn't sure if Martin could keep my interest throughout the (very long) series of books, but I'm 1/3 of the way through A Clash of Kings and so far I'm still having trouble putting it down every time I read.
