What are you reading next?
I re-read books too, like the Fever series and the series that must not be named. But I'm not into writing reviews. Once I finish a book and have moved onto the next, I've forgotten most everything. I've read the Fever series twice and there are things in the Fever thread that I'm not remembering. :(
I have to write reviews or else I won't remember anything, but at least it's not just me who forgets.

Well, I haven't read all of her books but the ones that I've read are like that.
Fire is a companion novel to Graceling and yes I agree that you can read them out of order. I think I like Fire more than I like Graceling. They're both pretty awesome though. Can't wait for Bitterblue!

Just add more books to your wish list! Don't hold back. I've said this before and I'll say it again - come over to the dark side! We have candy. :)

I have been re-reading all the HP books (or listening to their audiobooks) before each movie comes out. Guess I will have to read Dealthly Hollows twice, since it is going to be two movies!

Of course there are so many other books I'm reading that it's difficult. I'm finding that I am really enjoying it though, getting to pick out all those "hints" about what's to come. I hope you enjoy it when you finally get the chance.

Unlike another series that shall not be named, the HP series movies have all been excellent. It is always hard when you've read the book, because you know what is left out, but you can't have 5 hour movies to include everything! (unless you are Gone with the Wind)

Oh, I wouldn't say they've all been excellent. I have some SIRIUS issues with some screenwriting changes. Half-Blood Prince was fantastic though.

I've heard that not a lot of kids read them nowadays because they'd rather watch the movies.
Brittany - I meant excellent compared to the movies for "the series that shall not be named". I mean, they are no Hurt Locker (which WAS excellent).
This is totally random but since we're talking about HP, I thought I'd mention it. Whenever I forget something at home, like my phone or wallet, I always think "I wish I could just Accio it to me"

Bluemoon - I completely agree with you about the Dumbledore thing. But what are you gonna do when an actor up and dies on you?? I thought the first guy was more what I pictured in the books, he possessed more of the quirkiness that Dumbledore has.
I am going to ignore all the slams about the series that shall not be named :P but only because I absolutely LOVE Harry Potter. It was the first fantasy series that I've read and the movies have been fun too.

For example, he's one of the few cast members who hasn't read the books and I think it comes across on screen. (but Gary Oldman didn't either and I LOVE him as Sirius) That being said, he was a great Dumbledore in Half-Blood Prince. He made Dumbledore look weak for the first time really. It was a great acting job. And I can't really think of anyone who I think could replace him so...
Blue Moon - start the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo! Brittany - I agree with you about the actor who plays Dumbledore - I wasn't a fan of him, but he somewhat grew on me in the last film (too bad it's his last - hee hee). Gary Oldman Rocks! I love him.

Heidi if you are going to read Girl with the dragon tattoo I hope you have plenty of patience. It is a good book but it takes forever to get into it. I actually gave up at one point until a friend told me to carry on and that it does get better. It did, but I just didnt think this book was worth all the hype. Saying that Lisbeth Salander is a great character to read about.
I'm almost finished with Deadly Little Lies. I've enjoyed this series.
I was going to read The Book Thief next but I think I'm going to read Graceling. A little romance is always good. :)

Emma I already read the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Girl Who Played with Fire. The Girl Who Played With Fire was WAY better! It was all Lisbeth all the time. I love her. p.s. I warn everyone to stick with the first book because it bored me at first too, but in the end it was worth it to me. I listened to both on audio, so perhaps having a guy with a Swedish accent reading them helped.

Graceling is my favorite so far in 2010!
Thanks Heidi for the info, I also have all 3 books and the latest one, but I was not eager to read the rest of the books. If you say that the next one in the series is alot better I wil give them a shot.I also read Graceling It was a good story. Id give it a 6 out of 10
Yes Emma - give book two a shot. I think it starts off a lot faster. It is pretty graphic though. p.s. How did you get book 3? Is it out now???
Nope I don't read ebooks. You probably don't know this yet, but we don't want to restart the whole "kindle" vs. real books thing up in here. We have been beating that to death. So far I have stuck it out with regular old library books. I just checked and it says Book 3 is not due to be released until May 25th????? I hope to listen to it on audio again, as I like that format with this series.
The only reason I mentioned ebooks is that you hadnt got the 3rd book and I was going to send it to you :-)I dont know anything about Kindle vs real books debate?? I would not be interested in having a discussion about that. Respecting peoples personal choice is more my style. :-)
I am glad that you mentioned the 2nd book gets better as I really liked Lisbeth salander, atleast now I know I can fnd out more about her.
Emma- I was totally getting saucy with you about the ebook thing :) Anyway, just take what I say with a grain of salt - everyone else does! By the way, thanks for the offer to send me that ebook! That was very nice of you. I hope you like book 2, but feel free to blame me if you don't :)
Heidi wrote: "Emma- I was totally getting saucy with you about the ebook thing :) Anyway, just take what I say with a grain of salt - everyone else does! By the way, thanks for the offer to send me that ebook! ..."Oh dont worry I will ;-)

Hey Emma she was just messing around. She's depressed because she doesn't have a Kindle. It hurts her bad when people say ebook. She hides behind this whole "I like my library" ruse. But we see right through it. You hear me Heidi?! We see right through it! That's the type of things you expect from Team Peeta. *shakes head*

You had me cracking up until you got to the Team Peeta thing. This Team Kindle member is also a Team Peeta member. And don't you forget it! Haha!

Yeah Team Kindle!

Well, to make matters worse I'm Team Gale but also "Team I want to hold an actual book in my hand" And yes, I've tried an ereader, no I didn't buy it. Someone let me borrow it for a book they had. But, we aren't re-hashing that debate... oh no!
Yet one more reason to get a Kindle vs. another ereader...Amazon's great customer service!
I ordered Graceling online but it never arrived on my Kindle. When I got back to work, I looked at my Amazon account and saw that I inadvertently ordered the hardcover book of Graceling, plus one day shipping, and it was going to cost me $30! Yikes! Because it was one day shipping, it wouldn't let me cancel it online so I called Amazon and they canceled the order immediately. Yay Amazon!

I love the smell of books and the way they feel in my hands and maybe not so much the way they smash my face when I fall asleep reading in bed! PS: I'm TEAM PEETA!!!! LOL

I've got a for real Kindle question. Is there a way once you have read a book on the Kindle to download to your computer to make room on the Kindle for more books. Or is it once it is full up you have to delete a book to make room. I'm not sure what the capacity of the Kindle is nor the size of a downloaded typical book.
Sheila - don't encourage those...kindle snobs, they will go on and on about the magic of the kindle. Sigh.
Heidi - You and I have Peeta and Peep and I have Kindle. See, it's all good! :)
Sheila - You archive books that you don't want on your Kindle anymore. I don't know a lot about it because I haven't used that feature yet but I think it stores the books on your Amazon page.

So once you buy it you own it whether it is actually taking up space on your Kindle or not? That would be sweet.
That's what I understand, Sheila. When I have a few minutes at work, I'll research it and let you know what I find out.
