Edward is gay? WTF?

I'm planning a lesson on vampires tomorrow for my rhetoric class, and found this article in my google search.

The title is "Vampires as Gay Men," and the author claims that the recent infatuation with vampires is because teenage girls want to sleep with gay men. His theory (a bullshit one, at best) is that Edward is gay because he is afraid to sleep with Bella. And, I suppose, because Edward is not violent. Pardon me, but I did not realize being a gentleman makes one homosexual. How absurd! And how offensive! I don't think he realizes how much he just insulted gay men by reiterating a dangerous stereotype, not to mention how insulting that comment is towards young women. What an ass!

Part of me really believes that this guy must have been forced to watch the movie and this article is his way of getting back. Still annoying, though.

Much as I dislike Twilight, I DO have to disagree with this article. I mean, in all seriousness, people shouldn't assume a guy is gay just because he is abstinent, and because he doesn't pick a fight with every other person.
