There's this nonfiction book I read, recently, too, but I cannot for the life of me remember the name!!! I thought it was called 100 greatest disasters, but when I checked that book out from the library, it wasn't. The book I am looking for was really really long, in fact it probably had more than 100 disasters in it. I remember the first chapter was about the black death, and each chapter started with a kind of historic fiction passage, discribing someone in the disaster. So, for the black death it had this really... memorable passage about a random guy from the middle ages that dies from the black plague. Please help me find this book!!

Michelle, Sometimes it takes at least a couple of weeks for everybody to see posts. Hopefully, someone will have ideas.
There's a book called Catastrophe! The 100 Greatest Disasters of All Time by Stephen J. Spignesi, 368 pp., the first chapter is on the Black Death and it begins with the story of a man named Jonathan.

And there's another book called "100 Greatest Disasters" by Michael Pollard which looks like it's aimed at a younger reader - maybe that's the wrong one you got from the library.
