Team Peeta was busy today! Went to see Avatar 3D and Joe's Crab Shack for dinner with friends.

Heidi - You are awesome (when you're not bashing my love of all things Twilight)! That PSA is hilarious!

GO TEAM PEETA!!!!!

message 214: by Chachic (new)

Chachic Hey, it's my birthday today so no one's allowed to contradict me. Team Gale rules! :) Gale FTW!

message 215: by Chachic (new)

Chachic Thanks Bluemoon! :) I want to read Incarceron too! Hopefully, my friend can send the copies that I asked him to buy for me soon.

message 216: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Chachic it is no longer your birthday! Team Peeta has taken over!

message 217: by [deleted user] (new)

Team Peeta rocks!

Still reading Catching Fire. I hate President Snow and the Quell. Not sure how this is going to end.

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments Oh Shannen, I envy your experience. As someone else said, I wish I could erase all memory of these books and read them again for the 1st time. (but then how would I ever get through my massive reading list?)

And it doesn't matter whose birthday it may or may not be... Team Gale will always be superior.

message 219: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments Incarceron was really good - I don't think I can wait until Sappique comes out here.

message 220: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Jaimie -- STOP hyping Incarceron!!!!! I have six books at home to read, and you are making me want to go to the library and start reading that one instead!

message 221: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments Ha! Just breathe - Incarceron will wait for you and be there when your ready to take it on.

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments I'm feeling the same way. I cannot start another book right now! But I want to so badly.

message 223: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments see my problem is that I have all these pre-orders that will be coming at the end of the month and the count down to when they come is killing me. I want them now!

message 224: by [deleted user] (new)

OMG! I am getting so mad at this book! Mags and the fog! I'm sitting at work with a huge lump in my throat. :(

I want to read it already! My friend is going to send me the UK editions but I don't know when he'll get around to that.

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments Just you wait Shannen... you'll be wanting August to come quickly too.

Serious eye rolling going on here. I was just in my rating! Just, I tell you!

message 230: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) As for my t-shirts, I'm sure you've noticed they aren't done. I asked dear hubby if he can cut them out now. He looked guilty and said he had thought about it. I said well can you do it now? He just smiles at me. I told him that the girls on my group think that I'm lying and have even questioned if I was even really married. His response? Smile then pretend to sleep then actually fall asleep! Sigh.....hahaha.

Heidi Bluemoon wrote: "Jaimie and Heidi: hehehehe....I think I want to read Incarceron so we can both rave about it and Heidi will be inclined to go pick it up ^_^"

I caved in Bluemoon! I have no self control. I put Incarceron on hold at the library! I am next in line. Ugh!

Sure...sure. The more you talk the more suspicious this whole thing sounds. p.s. if it is true, there is no way my husband would ever agree to do anything like that for me -- so kudos for him even agreeing to to do it.

message 233: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Well Heidi it's true. My hubby loves me, but I'm really beginning to wonder if I won't lose out to naps at the top of his "things I heart" list.

I was telling him about the book and he kept giving me a crazy look. Trying to describe the games and the people, it sounded really silly coming from me. I don't know why I even trying to explain books to him.

message 234: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) Well Peep I have a little different problem with the hubs. He has started reading my library books. For the last 35 years of our marriage if the book wasn't about the Civil War or trains or have Tom Clancy on the spine he didn't read it. NOW he is going through my stack of library books and reading them. What really bothers me is that he can read a book in about 1/4th the time I can. err. Of course I am reading several at a time and he is reading 1. I don't know why it bothers me that he gets the book read first, but it does.

Well Peep...in his defense...naps rock!
p.s. if you think it is hard to describe Hunger Games, try describing the Twilight series (especially Breaking Dawn) to someone who hasn't read it. I described it to my step mother and the more I talked the more crazy I sounded.

message 236: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Bluemoon wrote: "we book addicts usually cave in if we don't we're not really addicts. hehehehe..."

True. Sticking together makes us sound less crazy...right???

message 237: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Sheila - I have the opposite with my hubby! He refuses to read anything I recommend. I've been trying to get him to read Girl with the Dragon Tattoo for about a month now and he went to Amazon and read to me (out loud) all the stuff from the 1 star reviews, instead of focusing on the 4 and 5 star reviews (of which there are many). Ugh! The only series we both read is James Lee Burke's Dave Robicheaux books. That is why I love this site - I have someone to talk to about my books!

message 238: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished Catching Fire last night. I really don't understand this Team Gale stuff. Seriously. Each book has maybe five pages dedicated to him.

With that said, I truly hate: President Snow, The Capitol and the Quarter Quell. I truly love: Peeta, Haymitch, Cinna and a few others (don't want to give anything away).

As far as husbands go, my hubby has read and liked the Twilight series and the Sookie Stackhouse series. I can't get him to read the Fever series which I think he'll love (very Buffy-ish to me) but I think he is going to relent and read The Hunger Games for me. :)

Oh Sheila he won't read any of my books. He prefers Christian classics, things like old sermons.

He certainly doesn't prefer the books I do, especially a romance novel - he thinks they're silly. In his defense, my descriptions never help though. But he's my honey and I love him!

message 242: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Old sermons Peep????? Is your hubby a pastor???? What the he double hockey sticks!

message 243: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Nope, just an unofficial evangelist. He works in a facility for delinquents and is a jumping coach for track.

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments Shannen, while we can disagree on the whole Peeta/Gale debate... and as previously stated I have nothing against Peeta, I just like Gale more. I'm glad you have developed a love for Cinna.

I actually think he's my fav over both Peeta and Gale!

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments Don't do it... unless you like being spoiled

I didn't post a spoiler, Brittany did. I'm trying to be so careful not to. Maybe we can start a new thread with a huge heading that there are spoilers?

I too like Peeta and Gale - granted Gale is not in the books all that much but I think it goes back to the whole Joey/Dawson thing. (Yes I am using Dawson's Creek comparisons - not that they are anything alike in plot). They have been friends forever and I am always going to root for them to get together. In the end of DC Joey chose Pacy and I was okay with that but only b/c I watched the college years. If in Mockingjay Collins convinces me then so be it. I get Peeta like Katniss but why? Cause he gave her bread and she saved his butt in the games? He didn't really know anything about her - Gale does.

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments I tried to keep it vague... as much as possible.

Ha! I always picture Cinna as a gay guy - like Christian Siriano from Project Runway.

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments I'm not saying a wanna sleep with him, but I definitely wanna hang out with him. I kinda thought of him as gay too. I would chose to hook up with Gale.

My fav HP character is Sirius, I'm not infatuated with him either. I just love the character!
