Heidi Sweet! I just got the whole trilogy for $1.00 on my Kindle (yes $1!) with my Kindle ads promo. I already own them all in print, but they are lent out and it for $1 I could not resist. I love the ads on my Kindle...seriously!

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments AHHHHHH So jealous! Mine are lent out and I really want ebooks of them as well (for easy reference of course)

FRIENDS! The Hunger Games Trailer! It was good! (Honestly the teaser set my expectations low but this is a Real Honest To Goodness Trailer that is actually good)

message 1305: by [deleted user] (new)

Oooo! Can't wait to watch it when I get home!

message 1306: by Bethany (new)

Bethany | 578 comments It was AWESOME! My only complaint is that they don't show barely any actual arena scenes, but they only get two and a half minutes and I suppose they have to actually explain what the heck the movie is about so they focus on the reaping and her choice and getting to the capital. I will say that everything looked wonderful. All the characters and the sets were pretty perfect. I am so freaking excited, March can't come fast enough!

message 1307: by Shannon (new)

Shannon Dermott (shannondermott) | 7 comments From what I saw, the movie stuck close to the book. That's a good thing!

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments I suppose they are saving the arena scenes for the actual movie. I think explaining the basic premise and WHY they go to the arena was important set-up.

All the acting seemed to be spot-on. I'm considerably less nervous about this movie than I originally was. In fact I'm pretty darn excited. I think this is actually going to be quite good if the trailer is any indication.

I wanted more Peeta but then again I always want more Peeta.

Brigid ✩ | 135 comments I really liked the trailer... I think it's going to be good. It might even be better as a movie what with all the action and whatnot.

message 1310: by Diana (last edited Nov 14, 2011 12:11PM) (new)

Diana I never read Harry Potter or Twilight so I never really understood the fans, but with this I so get it now. I really liked the trailer, my only thing is that since I had the first two as audio books I have Carolyn McCormick's voice stuck in my head so it's a little weird hearing the actors.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Catie wrote: "I didn't even realize that I was excited to see that movie until I saw that trailer! It looks amazing."

I was cautiously excited, if that makes sense. But now I'm full-blown "GIVE ME THE MOVIE NOW" excited.

Heidi Oh. My. Gosh. I am so excited!

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Josh's interview that accompanied the trailer: http://www.popsugar.com/Video-Josh-Hu...

(Seriously what was life like before the internet? I don't think fandoms like this could flourish and exist without it)

Awwww! So cute! I see he is back to the brunette. He is so sweet and humble. I hope he stays grounded through this huge whirlwind he is going to encounter.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments The brunette suits him very well. Apparently he comes back to Kentucky quite often, hopefully that helps keep him grounded. He seems an intelligent well-spoken young man. I don't want Hollywood to mess with him.

Me neither. Is it wrong to want to pinch his checks?

(the checks on his face btw to any perverted type folks out there!)

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Whatever you posted isn't working any more Han.

I want to kiss the same cheeks you want to pinch. And to give him a big HUG.

message 1319: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I am soooo excited you gals. I hate how she pronounces Peeta though. It was driving me batty!

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments I KNOW. It's not that hard to say and Josh says it correctly. What was her dealio???

It was the whole GMC portion of the show with the trailer and Josh's interview.

message 1325: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (last edited Nov 14, 2011 06:09PM) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) I didn't like it somewhat, but I really think and want it to succeed - mainly because I like Josh. I think some of them started out a little too plump to be from a district where people routinely starve to death. But if that's my only gripe, then that's good news. I wanted to see more of the drama too.

I never claimed to be loyal, but for this movie (and maybe it's because of my JoshBias), I'm team PeeTah (as she kept pronouncing it).

message 1326: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Yay Team PeeTah! Good to see you Peep :)

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Peep I'm so glad someone else has a Josh bias (though I don't think we have the same reason for it lol).

Yeah they don't look to be starving. But they do look poor and hardy. I'm glad they didn't ask Jennifer to lose weight for the role. Because that would just be scary. She's beautiful.

message 1328: by Cortney (new)

Cortney | 21 comments I.... I'm more nervous because of the trailer. I just re-read the books with the movie in mind so all the little details are stuck in my mind. Like the fence around district 12 and the lack of peacekeepers and her prep team being a bunch of silly crazy people... not really portrayed the same in the trailer. It's good though, it gives me time to prepare for all the little differences there will be I guess. I wont be reading the books again before the movie comes out, then it will be a bit more faded and those details wont bother me so much....hopefully.
I thought the acting was great in the preview though, so thumbs up to that!

message 1329: by [deleted user] (new)

I really liked the trailer and can't wait for the movie but I thought the movie looked like typical teen cheese. Am I the only one? I like cheese but I thought the movie would have a more "epic" feel. Maybe I'll feel different when I see the trailer on the big screen.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments http://hungergamesmovie.org/5513/josh...

Josh interview. Still love him.

Foxface. She seems so sweet & she gives Jennifer high high compliments.

(Shhh what do you mean I"m suppose to be NanoWriMo-ing during this vacation. This is important too! Sorta...)

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Picture of Cinna, Haymith & Peeta. I'm trying to figure out that red outfit.

That's so cool, I really like this one. The previous ones looked a little too simple, but then again maybe that's because I wasn't completely sure who was who.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments I like the new poster.

Got Winters Bone from Netflix (b/c I STILL haven't cancelled my DVD plan lol) and am excited to see Jennifer in action!

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments So Taylor Swift has a new song (with the Civil Wars) that is supposed to be on the Hunger Games soundtrack.

I actually really like it. http://hungergamesdwtc.net/2011/12/ta...

I like it, but I think I have to see how it fits into the story before I fully form my opinion on it.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Who knows if it'll even be in the movie. But as a song I like it and I'm willing to judge it separately for now.

message 1340: by Diana (new)

Diana Even if it's not in the movie it still has to fit in some how; as a song it is pretty good, I just mean that I'd like to know the story behind it.

(It takes a while for certain songs to grown on me, so that's probably it also.)

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments It reminded me of the cave scene with Peeta/Katniss BUT even more so the train scenes in Catching Fire.

Some people where like "Is it Rue's Lullaby" and I'm like NO because Jennifer Lawrence is singing that, it's been confirmed.

message 1342: by Diana (new)

Diana If it is Rue's Lullaby it could just be an official cover, but it does seem like one of those two scenes with Katniss and Peeta.
I think it would fit either in the beginning before they leave for the capitol or at the end credits. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

It is a very haunting song- I think you are right, it will likely be when they are picked and leaving for the Capital or perhaps towards the very end of the movie. I am not a huge Taylor fan but I liked it - perhaps because Civil Wars was teamed up with her.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Honestly Taylor Swifts voice goes really well with the haunting style. If her normal stuff was like this normally (not tweentastic) I think I would like her.

Hopefully this will get the Civil Wars some more recognition.

Ohmygoodness! I LOVE that song! So pretty, and yes, haunting. But it's really romantic too. I don't care where they put it into the movie, it would fit into several scenes. I could also see them using it for the credits which would be lame. Why waste such an amazing song on credits, but they do sometimes. Anyway, I love it and again, I can't WAIT for this movie!!! Thanks for posting that Cassie :)

message 1346: by Dulce (new)

Dulce | 1 comments i cant wait anymore for the movie... i just hope is as good as the book was.... or I'm gonna cry... lol...
i also love the song by Taylor swift that's supposed to be in the movie...

message 1347: by Ellysa (new)

Ellysa It's funny that I couldn't understand the hype about this series... and then I read the trilogy in less than a week. I find myself on the verge of obsessed with telling people to read it. Let us hope that the movie will do it good and not be like Twilight's first movie was :(

I honestly am not a fan of Taylor Swift but that song is absolutely amazing! It will fit into the movie anywhere they put it; on the train to the capital, in the cave, or near the end. Can't wait!! <3

message 1348: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Beautiful music, and Taylor's voice really fit the bill on this one. I could see them using it during the night on top of the cornucopia when Cato is dying. Katniss has a plan then, so she knows they're both going to be safe or dead.

Same thing with me, I remember it was a pretty big deal when the first came out, I think someone was even making comments on how it was a YA book but even adults were enjoying it. I've been trying to remember if I had any intentions to read it, I have a memory of someone saying it was good if you liked the survival type of thing but after that I didn't even think about it. If I hadn't gotten it as an audiobook 2 years ago I probably wouldn't have ever read it.
Even then I wasn't planning on continuing the trilogy but ended up borrowing Catching Fire and then I couldn't get through the last quick enough. I try so hard not to talk about it because I have a feeling I'm just going to end up bugging people.

message 1350: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I love that!! I'm so crazy excited for that movie. I took March 23rd off work so I can see the midnight showing on the 22nd.
