The Hunger Games by Suzzane Collins

I laughed out loud at this comment!"
Chachic - don't tell Shannen this, but I am not a fan of the Twilight saga. I think there are books out there that have much better writing that deserve the praise (and money) it has received. Shhhhh - I don't think she knows.
I HEARD THAT, HEIDI! :) That's OK. As long as we don't start a "Worst YA Books" thread here like on the other YA group I'm in. That thread drives me nuts but I can't keep myself from looking at it. I like to hear why people like books, not essays about why a book sucked (and I'm not just talking about Twilight).
Anyway...I got to a part in The Hunger Games last night that made me cry. I'm not posting spoilers here though. The book has been shocking as I can't believe the kind of world they live in. So far, I love Katniss. And really, Peeta hasn't been in it too much but whatever his plans are in the game, I believe he is always thinking of Katniss.

Oh, why thank you! That is so sweet :)

Most of my answers have to do with the way they are portraited in Catching Fire but I absolutely LOVE Cinna and would like to see more of him! He has to be one of my favorites. Don't worry, no spoilers, but I just can't help loving him. Other favs are Haymitch, Finnick, and "Nuts and Bolts"
Who do you love?

Team Gale coming through like a tornado.
LOL. That was so dumb!

I would love to expound a bit more, but it's difficult without giving away some spoilers so I'll leave it at that. Anyway, it's just my 2 cents.

hahahaha Heidi, thank you for my morning giggle!! I used to watch wrestling back in the day when that phrase was very very popular!! You just made me spit coffee on my laptop!! Hahahaha

Me too! I'm Team Gale and if I had to choose, I'd be Team Edward too. I didn't like the love triangle in Twilight.

Me too! I'm Team Gale and if I ..."
I hate any love triangle in any book. It's always sad because there's one guy that would lose and it always seems like the guy who's most in love with the girl - hence, Peeta and Jacob.

I hate love triangles in books too. For some reason, I don't think they get the happily ever after part if there is someone hurt by the relationship.

I got a text message annnd a facebook message from her last night saying "GET ME THE SECOND BOOK ASAP!" Maybe The Hunger Games will get her to want to read more often :D

Perhaps I was wrong... it was just a theory. I don't care which "T" team you're on Gale is still where it's at. (Sorry Heidi) ;)
I just finished! OMG! Instead of being able to move on to a book on my TBR list, I'm going to have to read Catching Fire! I loved this book. I'm still totally Team Peeta. We'll see what happens with the next book.
P.S. Twilight, Twilight, Twilight. Take that, Heidi! And for the record, Peep, the guy who loved Bella the most is Edward. Period. :)

Remember to think Cinna, Cinna, Cinna. He is apparently the only character on which Heidi and I are able to agree.

I can't believe all of you Peeta lovers. Your name has been entered into the games, now you can be with Peeta as much as you want.
Bluemoon - glad to see you liked them!

Not sure how to pronounce her name, exactly! But the movie is called "Hanna." I read a lot of scripts for work and I heard she was attached to star.

Oops, I just realized that Saoirse Ronan is NOT who I imagined to play Katniss - I thought Saoirse would be perfect as Clary from Immortal Instruments (with her red hair)! Got my characters confused. Katniss is supposed to be olive skinned with dark hair, right?

Oh it is SO on! I got my iron on letters out and will be making my shirt shortly. Pictures to follow :)
Heidi wrote: "...can we all at least agree that Katniss is a WAY better protagonist than Bella Swan? "
YES!
YES!

Definitely! I love strong female protagonists.

I think they just want to have two hot guys fighting over them. LOL!
