Stephen Smith (hoosiersmitty) | 6 comments There's nothing subtle about it in Catching Fire. I won't give anything major away, but he does express his love for her.

message 452: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Yes, he's in love with her. It's pretty evident.

message 453: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments And you haven't read Catching Fire yet!?!? I'm blown away. Get on the gravy train girl and pick it up right away.

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments See Bluemoon, I'm not the only one trying to get you to read it. But I do understand the issue when they don't have copies. Better to hold out for a good one than a torn one.

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments Also Bluemoon, let me know what you think of The Maze Runner. I wasn't a huge fan. Only 3 stars for me, but I will read the sequel, I'm just not impatient for it's arrival.

message 456: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I have found my Peeta! It is actor Rafi Gavon (plus some blond highlights). He plays Bug on Life Unexpected and was the lead singer (Dev) in Michael Cera's band in Nick & Nora's Infinate Playlist. He has naturally curly hair and is a cutie.

That is weird-it was brought up during a Twitter discussion he was a part of, and referenced as a movie. I am sure I misunderstood...as for FOX, too bad for them they didn't take time to do their jobs! Their loss...

I was wondering that too; I think that they will go for the cut-away, at least that is what I hope instead of changing the ages.

I liked the Maze Runner a lot-was surprised by a lot of it. I was confused at parts, not always a "good confused" either, more frustrated. My 6th grade boys are devouring it, though, and really seem to get it!

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments Jess, I think the "confused" thing is probably my biggest complaint about that book. I don't mind not knowing what is going on for a while, but I honestly felt zero resolution after reading it. I didn't care about the characters until about 50 pages left in the book and the reason I'm going to read the sequel is honesly because I WANT this story to make sense... in a good way. I want to like it. I'm hoping it comes together in some amazing way... but as a stand along book it just doesn't do it for me.

I'm not seeing it...

Totally see what you are saying. I liked the whole not knowing the character's past, but it made them difficult to connect to. It is a book that I wish that I hadn't read until the sequel/series were done so I could read them all at once...that happens to me a lot for some reason.

message 463: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Bluemoon and Shannen you have crushed my dreams.

message 464: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Wow, he would make a great Gale! But he's too dark for Peeta Heidi. Peeta is blond, blond, blond. Dying Rafi's hair wouldn't be good enough, he'd still look like he was naturally dark, which Peeta does not.

I saw a picture of him with lighter hair and it was curly. That is why I mentioned him.

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments Sorry Heidi, gotta go with Gale for him. Unfortunately no matter how much you want Peeta to be a brunette, he's still blonde. Just come over the the dark side, it's a lot hotter over here and we have plenty of protein (not just meat)!

message 467: by [deleted user] (new)

William Moseley is my Peeta. Still don't have any solid ideas for Katniss or Gale.

message 468: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments William Moseley would be a good Peeta and I agree that Rafi would be a smoking Gale.

message 469: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments I still like the kid who played Eragon as Peeta. I think he's a better actor but I do like William, so I would be happy with either.

message 470: by Mindy (new)

Mindy (mindylu) | 82 comments My sister has been nagging me to read it. I am taking a trip to Oregon and think I might get audio and listen to it on the way! It is on my list!

message 471: by Heidi (new)

Heidi If you are talking about Hunger Games, then YES you must read it Mindylu!

message 472: by Mindy (new)

Mindy (mindylu) | 82 comments I plan to, well at least listen to it! I am trying to talk the whole family into listening to it on the way! Thanks Heidi

message 473: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Highly, Highly recommended although I don't know who narrates it and that can make a big difference.

message 474: by Mindy (new)

Mindy (mindylu) | 82 comments I will check it out on audible but you are so right Becca, the narrator makes all the difference!

message 475: by Lani (new)

Lani (crahfty) | 253 comments I listened to Catching Fire on audio and it was good. The narrator keeps a nice even tone and her voice works well with the seriousness of the book.

message 476: by Linda (new)

Linda | 36 comments I read a lot and I'm in two book groups - one that reads YA and one that reads Adult books.

I found HG throught the YA group but managed to talk my Adult group into reading it.

It is at the top of my fav books list. I re-read the first book and loved it even more the second time.

In my YA group this past weekend - someone asked if there was a book that the group read that every single one of us liked and HG was the only one!

I love this book!!! Can't say enough good things about it.... I tell everyone to read and but when describing it I have to say - trust me - don't worry about the subject - I thought the same thing when I first heard about it! Actually when my YA book group chose it I though - eeewwww I don't want to read THAT! LOL

message 477: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments You don't have to tell them anything about it really. Just say it's a dystopian novel that will knock their socks off. When my husband asked me about it I told him to just read it, that I couldn't explain, it was just that good.

message 478: by Steven (new)

Steven Matchett (ubernoob73) | 2 comments The Hunger Games is my favorite series ever. I have a catch phrase, but I don't want to annoy anyone so I won't use it

message 479: by Steven (new)

Steven Matchett (ubernoob73) | 2 comments I am having difficulty using bold, underline etc. so just ignore that.

Ali | 106 comments Ok... started and finished The Hunger Games last night... stayed up until 3:30am this morning to finish it! I simply couldn't put it down. I think about every emotion known to man hit me throughout the book.. at one point [spoiler:](Rue) [/spoiler:]I actually had to go get tissues and walk around for a minute. It's been YEARS since something like that happened! This is YA? Really? Seriously? Downloaded Catching Fire and reading it now. Needless to say, was about worthless at work today! Thank goodness I have the next two days off!

Peep (Pop! Pop!) *scoffs!*

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) I thought the first book was okay but not great. I have tried several times to read the second one and just can't get into it. :(

message 493: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Really????????????????????

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) Yeah..I know..I must be a oddball :)

message 495: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Hey, can't please them all :)

message 496: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Heidi there are a few people in the group that didn't care for the book. Stormi if you didn't like the first one, then you probably won't like the second one as they are quite similar.

Heidi I know you were being nice, you're always nice =D. I didn't think you remembered the others who didn't like it. I was wrong, sew me (hubby wrote that in a text once (back when they were IM's) I thought it was hilarious).
