i really liked this book/series. i think it is a very easy read but i love the concept that vampires exist in our world. that they are common place in everyday life. anyone else read this book/series? i'd love to know what you think about the book?

i have read all three. i love them. it is a easy read. i love the fact that this is the first vampire book that had open/closed circles. i could relate to it more,it reminds me of the wiccan cerimonies.
i loved that too. this book felt more wiccan views when it came to their goddess and the ceremonies. i liked how the elements played a bigger role in what the vampyres used to help fuel their power.
I really like this take on vampires, moving them out of a damned creature of the night persona and into a more spiritual/earthly/natural persona. I as well find them very easy to read and I love some of Damien's vocab!
I just read the first book and I love it, love it, I LOVE IT! I was so surprised because I didn't expect it to like it. I was so into the twilight series that I didn't think they would be as good, but I was wrong, this book was ten times better than all the twilight series combined.
i liked these books when i first read them, but when i thought about them they don't really seem so great anymore. i mean, yeah, i guess they're fun. but the writing style is a little lame. and i guess the first book's pretty good, but the second one was a little weird, and the third one was just... awful and disgusting. zoey gets really annoying and whiny, and eventually i figured out that i have no sympathy for her. i guess they're okay, good for a light read.i can't even compare them to twilight... not even close to being in the same league, in my opinion. i luv twilight a gazillion times better.
I should really point out that I actually didn't really like the Twilight series as a whole. I only liked the first and the third book, so before people chew me out, I'm only refering to fact that to me, the vampire world in this book is way cooler than in the Twilight series.
i love the grandma in the series. she makes me think of a wise little cuddly woman! i love her insight into her grandchild.i really want to know what happens in the fourth book....zoey has majorily screwed up and alienated herself from her friends so much that i don't know what she can do to fix that, not to mention her human "boyfriend" and vampire boyfriend! and i want to know about what her best friend has become and what her "mentor" is going to do. (sorry i am really bad at remembering everyones names)
zoey does make me mad at how much she doesn't say. she keeps lying and it just isn't needed. if she was just more honest with her friends they would be able to help. they keep proving this to her but she keeps forgetting.
I have all three of these books and I think they are just great! I love reading them and I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world.
I liked the first four when I read them. Now I can't stand the series. Too many prejudice undertones. I don't like how the Casts view homosexuals or aboriginals.
I love the house of night series. It's fun, fast, heartfelt. I started reading this series after I read Twilight and to be honest I believe this is so much better! Zoey is just a normal teenager with the exception that she's a vampire. But she goes through a lot of things that are similar to high school students.

I'm on book five now and it's torture! They just introduced a black character and she's so stereotypically "black" that it's hard to read. And the gays...don't get me started. They are also portrayed in an offensive and stereotypical style. This series was never really my favorite but I'm not sure I'm going to make it through after this one...
I love the series! I just can't see how people wouldn't like them... Oh and calling Zoey a slut? Whats up with that? I guarantee that at least one of those people that called her that will either have that same problem with guys or have already had it.
I love the series, there is just so much and my emotions change with each book. And for all those who say there are a lot of stereotypes well I think it's more the fact that the writers did what they think would suit the characters then what stereotypes they could put into the book without getting in trouble.
As a 33 year old Young Adult book reader, I actually like this series. I also disliked the whole 3 guys going at the same time thing but... without spoiling anything specifically... I THINK we're moving past that... we'll see. I haven't read the newest book yet... will be excited to read it. It's easy reading fun.
I love the concept of knowing vampire are real and that they know where they actually go to school and things like that, they even study it in class! I finished the 4th book like a week ago and I'm waiting for amazon to deliver the next four.
