Silver Borne comes out this month! YAY! 3/30 can't come soon enough.

Anyone else going to be reading this book? Want to make any guesses about what's going to happen?

message 2: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I will!

message 3: by Paula (new)

Paula (pauldajo) I will definately read Silver Borne, but I should wait until it is in paperback.

HA! Maybe you "should" but "will" you???? hee hee

message 5: by Melinda (new)

Melinda | 4 comments Oooo I love Mercy Thompson. I will read it :)

message 6: by Literary Ames (new)

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 77 comments I'll be reading it. It's coming out in paperback in the UK.

I'm loving the Alpha & Omega series more than Mercy at the moment so I'm wondering whether Silver Borne will tip my scales the other way.

message 7: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (dawnv) I am reading, I have it on order from the library because I will have to wait for paperback before I buy.

Anyway I am not sure what I think will happen, I refuse to read first chapters any more they are such a tease. While I love the series I just cannot buy into the Mercy and Adam pack and now she is an alpha like him. So I am hoping this is not going to be a romantic book and I hope it sticks with the urban fantasy like the others.

message 8: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_anne) | 60 comments I will definitely be reading this as soon as I can get my hands on it!!

In the meantime, I think I'm going to have to at least skim the other books to catch myself up.

message 9: by VMom (new)

VMom (votermom) | 29 comments I love this series; can't wait for Silver Borne.

message 10: by MissSusie (new)

MissSusie I will definitely be reading this may have to reread Bone Crossed just to remember how it ended. From what I've heard Silver Borne will be about the fae world and the fae book that Mercy has.

From the description here on goodreads I think you're right - Fae stuff.

Does anyone who has recently finished Bone Crossed want to provide a recap to remind us all what happened?

MissSusie Patricia Briggs has a teaser on her webpage

message 14: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (audiobookmel) I am going to read. I love the Mercy Thompson series (I also like Alpha and Omega, but not as much as Mercy). I am disappointed that Patricia Briggs is not working on either series for a little bit. I am going to miss them (from what I understand, they are coming back, but it will be a little bit).

There is also a graphic novel that is a prequel to the Mercy Thompson series, Mercy Thompson: Homecoming. It was great. I think that there are more coming from both wolf series. I hope so!!

message 15: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_anne) | 60 comments I'm getting anxious! I managed to finish Iron Kissed over a very busy weekend and have just started on my re-read of Bone Crossed.

Because my purse was not equipped to carry around a hard cover book, like my copy of Bone Crossed, (plus a spare book, just in case!), I was forced to go out and buy a large tote. Also, after reading everyone's posts, I went out and bought the Alpha & Omega books to add to my to-read pile.

There's a short story in On the Prowl that is a prequel for the Alpha & Omega series that I would highly recommend reading first. It will provide you with all the background information for the female main character.

message 17: by Sandy (new)

Sandy I pre-ordered Silver Borne. Can't wait for it to get here.

message 18: by Zainab (new)

Zainab | 20 comments Hey, I just finished the first book in the Mercedes Thompson series. It was pretty good, but i haven't been able to get my hands on the second one yet. Is it worth it to continue reading?

message 19: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. Yes, absolutely - this is one of my favorite series. In the top 3.

YES, abosultely positively yes! It's a great series. I love the characters, relationships, humor, depth, and the world that has been created. Definately worth the read.

message 22: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_anne) | 60 comments I agree with all of the above! It is a GREAT series and one of my favorites.

I'm such a dork that I left work to go to the bookstore and pick up Silver Borne (Mercedes Thompson, #5) - as a nice bonus, I was also able to pick up Gail Carriger's new book, Changeless.

After much internal debate I decided to buy Silver Borne right away as well. I'll be starting it as soon as I finish the short story I'm reading in Must Love Hellhounds.

HA Sarah! You gotta be careful when going into bookstores. Way too many goodies :)

message 24: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (audiobookmel) I pre-ordered my copy of Silver Borne. It should be delivered tomorrow. I can't wait to read it.

message 25: by Zainab (new)

Zainab | 20 comments haha, yes'm. Just started it. It looks pretty good so far!

I started last night and knew it was a bad idea! Now all I want to do is snuggle into a cozy blanket (yup it's SNOWING here) and get as far as possible. Too bad I have a busy day.

Did anyone else have a deja vu moment when Tad called Mercy in the first chapter? It totally reminded me of when Tad called about Zee's legal troubles. I even double checked to make sure I hadn't loaded the wrong book into my ereader :)

*Remember that this thread (and all series discussion threads) WILL have spoilers so tread with caution

message 27: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I just received Silver Borne last night - I'm going to read it for an April challenge.

message 28: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_anne) | 60 comments I started and finished it last night (who needs sleep, right?)! So glad that I did, though. After just finishing my re-read of the first four books and then this one, I'm remembering why I love this series so much! :)

message 29: by chucklesthescot (new)

chucklesthescot This is one of my very favourite series. I love the characters especially Adam(*sigh*), Warren and Stefan. I love the pack and how it has changed since we first met them. I've read the first 5 books and can't wait to see what happens next.

message 30: by Knitwit (new)

Knitwit Tarvin I too love the Mercy Thompson books. In addition to enjoying the characters and plot, I used to live 45 minutes from the Tri-Cities area where they take place, and it's fun to picture "home" whe I read about Mercy and the pack. I have already pre-purchased the book on my nook, so it will download as soon as it comes out. I'm chomping at the bit, but I'm using the wait to read the Fever books by Karen Moning. :)

message 31: by chucklesthescot (new)

chucklesthescot How cool is that! If anybody set a book in my home town it would be a pretty grim story!

message 32: by AlbertaJenn (new)

AlbertaJenn I loved the first four books, but Silver Bourne was a disappointment to me. I'm hoping River Marked will be back on track.

message 33: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 1 comments I have really enjoyed this series and can't wait for the next one to come out. I also enjoyed the Alpha & Omega spin off of these books it takes things in a whole new direction. I just wish they would come out sooner since i can't wait to read them!!

message 34: by Angela (new)

Angela (question_real_or_fake) I started the series, on the 3rd book right now, I'm liking what I'm reading so far.
Does Patricia Briggs have any other good series?

AlbertaJenn Angela wrote: "I started the series, on the 3rd book right now, I'm liking what I'm reading so far.

The Alpha & Omega series is good. It is about Bran's other son, Charles. make sure you start with On the Prowl (Alpha and Omega Briggs) (Inhuman Wilks) (Buying Trouble Chance) (Mona Lisa Betwining Sunny) by Patricia Briggs , as the short story in there has a lot of backstory.

I haven't gotten into her other true fantasy series yet, but have heard really good things about them.

message 36: by Pamela (new)

Pamela Ennis (goodreadscomyahoo_pam) I have the series up till the new one comes out and I just love the series. I esp like her tats. Once I started I couldn't put the series down.

message 37: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (audiobookmel) I am now waiting on River Marked. I have also been reading the comics.

message 38: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (nancyc) I just finished Lover Mine and did not care for it. I have just started Shadowfever and am loving it so far.

message 39: by Angela (new)

Angela (question_real_or_fake) I'm done so far with the mercy books till the next one is out. now i'm on the hunt for a new seris to read

AlbertaJenn Angela wrote: "I'm done so far with the mercy books till the next one is out. now i'm on the hunt for a new seris to read"

Have you tried Alpha & Omega?

It starts as a short story in On the Prowl (Alpha and Omega Briggs) (Inhuman Wilks) (Buying Trouble Chance) (Mona Lisa Betwining Sunny) by Patricia Briggs and the first books is Cry Wolf (Alpha & Omega, #1) by Patricia Briggs .

I was thinking about those, too.
