Which list and which book? Let me see if I can do it, if not, I can ask a super librarian to do it?

message 1402: by Cait S (new)

Cait S | 738 comments I've yet to find any listopias that I can't remove books from, so I think any librarian here should be able to handle that. I think it's just deleting books entirely that needs to be done by a super librarian.

I took two book off of the list Kristina. If there are any more on there that you want removed let us know which ones they are.

I would probably put in a big bold capitalized note at the start of the list information that this list does not include non-fiction. It might help with keeping it clear.

P.S. Based on your list criteria I think Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? should probably be taken off as well.

message 1404: by Kristina Simon (new)

Kristina Simon (kristinasimon) | 11205 comments Thanks, Nicola! Good idea about the note. I'll change that soon.

I have librarian status, but I couldn't figure out how to remove them myself. Or at least, it wasn't obvious at first glance. Is there an edit button on lists that I'm overlooking?

message 1405: by Cait S (new)

Cait S | 738 comments On a Listopia's first page, at the end of the description of what should be on the list, there is a super tiny edit button. That'll take you to a page where, near the bottom, there's a button that says "Remove particular books". Hitting that will allow you to delete any book off the list.

Worldcat has the MMP at 186 pages. I've added that page number to the edition here.

Janice | 713 comments Will a librarian please add a page count, first published date, and cover for the book Juggling with Tigers?

It is 182 pages and was originally published in 1995 which shows on its World Cat page: https://www.worldcat.org/title/juggli...

As for the cover, I can only find a photo of it on Amazon. I hope that's o.k.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 4447 comments Can someone correct the original publication date for this book:

Deep Down Dark: The Untold Stories of 33 Men Buried in a Chilean Mine, and the Miracle That Set Them Free

It shows the 'default' of Jan 1, 2014. But I cannot find an edition that was published before Oct 07, 2014.

Thank you.

Done! I think when you add just the year of the edition without specific date it shows January 1st but I may be wrong.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 4447 comments Here's thing that I don't know how to fix.

The Country Under My Skin: A Memoir of Love and War ... shows two authors, but Kristina Cordero is the TRANSLATOR, not a co-author.

She's correctly identified as a translator on this edition: The Country Under My Skin: A Memoir of Love and War

Thanks for supporting my OCD!

Bea Book Concierge, this is now corrected.

Kathy, GR does not note the number of CDs but rather the number of hours of listening for audio books. Per Worldcat, this book has 9 hours of listening time. GR entry updated.

Janice | 713 comments Would a librarian please add a page count?

The book is My Life in a Man-Made Jungle byBelle J. Benchley

I couldn't find the number of pages on Worldcat or Amazon. My local library has the count at 293.

I hope this is enough info for you.

Thanks

message 1423: by Bea (new)

Bea Actually I found page count on both Amazon and Worldcat. However, GR counts Worldcat as more accurate than Amazon, and Worldcat does agree with your library. Updated to 293 pages.

Thanks, Bea. I guess I wasn't sure where to look on the Worldcat page.

Janice, when looking for page count on Worldcat, scroll down below the list of libraries who have the book. It is in the data there.

message 1426: by Stacy (new)

Stacy | 102 comments I wanted to get my copy of Bloody Instructions verified for part of the challenge, but they told me to contact you because my edition is different than what is listed on here. My copy was published in 1962 by Harper and Row and has 212 pages. I don't know what the dustcover looked like since it is missing, but the book without it is yellow and is a first edition. On the help thread for the challenge they said one copy had no numbered pages and the other 10, so maybe those were promos?

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 4447 comments I don't know how to search for and add a cover to this book edition
Señor Vivo and the Coca Lord
ISBN - 0688111300

It's a hardcover first edition, published by William Morrow & Company

The cover shows a man standing with legs apart, an apparently naked woman right behind him, with her arms around him, and two black panthers behind them.

Can anyone help?

Thank you in advance.

Janice | 713 comments Lenny Bruce's book How to Talk Dirty and Influence People shows as first being published in 1965. My book and Worldcat both give the date as 1963 - https://www.worldcat.org/title/how-to.... Will a librarian please change the date if correct?

Also, would you please add an original published date of 1949 to Everything But Money? Here's the Worldcat link https://www.worldcat.org/title/everyt...

message 1445: by Bea (new)

Bea Janice, I am going to leave Lenny Bruce's book for another librarian. I saw the Worldcat reference you gave, which also notes that the book was originally serialized in Playboy. Wikipedia article on Lenny Bruce (Lenny Bruce) notes: "Serialized in Playboy in 1964 and 1965, this material was later published as the book How to Talk Dirty and Influence People."

The Worldcat reference notes it was copyrighted in 1963. That is not necessarily the publication date.

message 1446: by Bea (new)

Bea Janice, everything I can find other than the Worldcat reference you gave states that the original publication date is 1966. The book referenced in your Worldcat entry is almost twice as long as the GR entry. Agin, I will leave this for another librarian to decide.

Sorry that I do not seem to be able to help you.

message 1447: by Janice (new)

Janice | 713 comments Thanks, Bea. You are such a great book detective. It still works for the task I'm completing. I just love knowing when a book was written.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 4447 comments Can a library correct the Original Publication date for this book:
Not My Father's Son
It currently states the "default date" of Jan 1, 2014 (I'm sure the default date) ... but I don't find any edition before October 7, 2014.
Thank you in advance!

message 1449: by Bea (new)

Bea Per Amazon, the audio was produced October 1, 2014, so I set that as the original publication date.
