5. Military/War: Since March came from the War God Mars, read a book that has some kind of war as a backdrop or has a character that is in the military. - Main character is ex-military, discharged after surviving being a hostage and suffering from severe PTSD
6. International Womens' Month: Read a book that has a single female figure on the cover.
7. Romance Genre: Read a historical romance.
8. Middle Name Pride Day: Read a book whose author either has a three-word name (EX. Jayne Ann Krentz, Karen Marie Moning) or carries an official middle initial (Ex. Laurell K. Hamilton, Shannon K. Butcher).
9. Of Shelves and Lists: Read a book from the Top 100 Dear Author Romance List.

Well there are several authors on there I can't I can't stand or bore me to tears. Or they are books I've already read (all the Lisa Cach's for example). So I'm going to go with the alternative someone mentioned about reading something else by one of the authors. Depending on what's available at the library or I already have in audio, I'm going to read something by one of these authors:

March 2010Another good month of reading for me, even with reading the monstrously huge The Mammoth Book of Irish Romance! LOL (which literally took me the entire month. I started it March 1 and finished it March 31st.) I read a total of 17 full length books and three shorts. My total for the year to date is a little low though to make my goal of 225 for the entire year, so we'll see how that pans out as the year goes on.

My April 2010 Reads Not as good as some of my other months, but still a fair number read this month. I think it was less because I've been too busy and too tired to go to the gym and I could usually get some listening and/or reading done during my workouts so I lost that time this month. And some of what I've been having to do at work required more concentration so I was unable to listen to an audio book while working.

May 2010Not a bad reading month but less than I'd like to meet my goal of 220 books for the entire year. 14 full length books and no shorts this month. Part of the problem was I had a few I relaly didn't care for but had to finish them for some commitment I made. otehrwise I'd have quit them. It’s Just A Game Challenge
Duration: June 1, 2010 to August 31, 2010
For this challenge, all of our categories are influenced by popular games.
Monopoly –Read a book where a character is a land developer, banker, real estate agent, millionaire, etc or the storyline is set in the world of finance, banking, or real estate.
Clue - Read a murder mystery or a book with a weapon somewhere in the title or on the cover (poison, gun, knife, etc).
Chess – Read a book that is set in the medieval period or has a character that is a Queen, King, Bishop or Knight or one of these words as part of the book’s title.
Candyland – Read a book set in a candy store, bakery, or has a character that is a baker or candy maker, or a name of a candy or sweet as part of the title.
Twister - Read a book with a green, blue, yellow or red cover or has all four colors represented on the cover.
Operation – Read a book set in a hospital or has a character that is in the medical profession.
Scene It! – Read a book that has a character that is a celebrity, an actor/actress or works in the film/TV industry.
Girl Talk - Read a book that is considered chick-lit or a book that has a young female as the main lead.
Mahjongg – Read a book that has an Asian main character or the book is set in Asia.
Risk –Read a book that has some sort of war as a backdrop or setting or has a character that is career military.
Bonus: Go for 12 books instead of 10 by creating your own Game-inspired categories. Be sure to name the Game you have selected and explain your criteria. - Possibles of my own or borrowed from other players. Listing however many I can think of and will pick from those. Will keep adding as I go if I come up with more ideas.
Cranium - has a student/scientist/teacher who's job is to improve the use of their own cranium or someone else's
Ouija - ghost/psychic/characters use a ouija board in book
Backgammon - time travel
Chutes and Ladders - has a character who is a construction worker/electrician/etc type job (climbs ladders) and/or has kids (since kids like to slide down chutes/slides)
Guess Who? - spies/secret agents
Stratego - civil war

Yahtzee - set in a Casino/Las Vegas/with a gambler as a character/etc
