I loved the entire I-Team series, although I kind of forced myself through the first one. The characters are so endearing and the plots are varied and interesting. One of the later books, Striking Distance, is a little darker than I go for, but still enjoyable. Clare hooked me. I read her Cobra Elite series after that, with some of the I-Team characters making an appearance. I actually think it's the better series. The books are really well-researched, with some fascinating background that, fortunately, doesn't overshadow the plot.

Amyiw | 254 comments I've been in the shifter, scifi romance spree, though I did read these historical and contemporary in the last month.
Ain't She a Peach (Southern Eclectic, #2) by Molly Harper , be sure to read the prequel, Peachy Flippin' Keen as it is a lead in and makes the book a 4
Snow and Mistletoe by Alexa Riley , erotica scarred hero, pretty good for a short
Mr. Darcy's Refuge A Pride & Prejudice Variation by Abigail Reynolds The Last Man in the World by Abigail Reynolds , pride and prejudice variations good but not true character.
Survivor In Death (In Death, #20) by J.D. Robb slowly going through the series. My go to when I need easy and comfortable.
Leo Loves Aries (Signs of Love, #1) by Anyta Sunday meh, m/m contemporary
Then there is my scifi/pnr spree
Born of Defiance (The League Nemesis Rising #7) by Sherrilyn Kenyon great series
Bitter Pill (PsyCop, #11) by Jordan Castillo Price a favorite m/m PNR/UF series
Mocker of Ravens (SPECTR Series 2, #1) by Jordan L. Hawk m/m good series

I've always shied away from the In Death series because I'm not drawn to the future setting. It's so popular and there are so many, I wonder if I'm missing out. I'm the same way with Jayne Ann Kretz. I devour her Jayne Ann Krentz and Amanda Quick novels but steer clear of Jayne Castle books.

In Death series took me a while to be drawn to. It started with too many TSTL moments for me in the first few books and didn't wow me with the first. I liked them OK but nothing pulled me but the friends that loved them. My ratings where 4-3-5-3-2-5 for the first 6, that is a wide range for a series that everyone loves but there were two really good reads in there. Still I let it sit for 6 years! 2013 until 2019 and probably would've left it but we did a series buddy read last year and I decided to give a go when they caught up. Read 1, good 4, left it and then this year caught back up, they've been 4 and 5 all but one and one novella at 3. I've started to love the characters and the humor they have, the main couple and side characters. They are easy reads, sometimes have a good mystery, a little humor, a little furthering of an epic romance, a little furthering of the side characters and their relationship. I really like it a lot today, I don't really notice the futuristic aspect as it is not far off.
Survivor In Death (In Death, #20) by J.D. Robb is number 20 so I have to be enjoying it pretty well :-)

I didn't like Jayne Castle's St Helens much Amaryllis (St. Helen's, #1) by Jayne Castle , Orchid (St. Helen's, #3) by Jayne Castle & Zinnia (St. Helen's, #2) by Jayne Castle . I like some of her Amanda Quick historicals.

Looks like there are four books including a prequel in Walker's Deep Six Security. I'm going to start that after I finish up Britney Sahin's Stealth Ops series. (Just finished Book 6 Chasing the Knight which was by far my least favorite, but I'm going to stick with the series).

Social distancing and zero-degree weather are doing wonders for my productivity (silver linings). Book 3 is called Dark Depths and features the newest member of the team, Cam. Each book derives its storyline from an actual historical event. This one is inspired by a Moorish king who hid his treasure on Mallorca while fleeing the Crusaders! (There are a few other things happening as well...) Coming (hopefully) late spring!
