Katrina Jay | 17 comments Sail (Wake, #2) by M. Mabie I started this a couple of hours ago and am in 9 chapters and enjoying it so far. The first one was ended on a heck of a cliff hanger so I am super stoked this one is out finally.

The next one up is Mud Vein by Tarryn Fisher . I have heard some great things about it and am looking forward to checking it out.

Is it dark like Tears of Tess (Monsters in the Dark, #1) by Pepper Winters ? Or a little different? I read ToT and liked it, but it was definitely one of those books I had to "recover" from.

I liked Mud Vein by Tarryn Fisher , too. It was so dark that at times I had to take mental breaks. I would read it and then switch to something light and fluffy right before bed. I didn't want to dream about it.

I have ToT but haven't read it yet, but Mud Vein is kind of twisty, dark. I agree with Deanna, I had to take a break so I read a lighter book along with it. But I still liked Mud Vein because it was so different.

ToT is pretty dark as well. There were some moments when reading it that I wasn't sure I could finish it. Some of the situations were pretty dark and I definitely had to read a recovery book after it. I liked it and like you, I liked it because it was different from what I have read in the past.

message 2116: by Katrina (new)

Katrina Jay | 17 comments So....I have finished Mud Vein by Tarryn Fisher . I enjoyed it, but it is one of those books that it is hard to put into words as far as a review goes for it. It was good and it was quite deep and full of lots of thinking and introspection for the main character.

Does Thoughtless (Thoughtless, #1) by S.C. Stephens get better towards the middle? I am in like chapter 9 or 10 and I am enjoying it, but I just keep thinking this girl is super naive and hoping she gets better :)

Currently reading The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle for another group's May read, and Out of Sight, Out of Time by Ally Carter.

Then I just finished a really good YA book called Vendetta (Blood for Blood, #1) by Catherine Doyle . Kind of a modern day Romeo and Juliet story. It's the first in a series and I would highly recommend it.

Natalie Hart (NatalieHart) | 11 comments I'm currently reading Breakaway: Portland Storm Breakaway (Portland Storm, #1) by Catherine Gayle .

I've just written a short about a woman dealing with mental illness and I really want to see how other authors deal with PTSD/Anxiety/Panic Attacks/Mental illness. So far I really like it, it deals with the subject sensitively. I'm not fully sold on the writing yet, but I have more to go. The characters are really good people, which I need for such a sensitive subject.
