Carolyn F. It's pretty depressing. It was good though.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 1922 comments I'm now reading Undeniably Yours (Kowalski Family, #2) by Shannon Stacey and absolutely loving it! I'm over 1/2 way and I've laughed out loud more times than I can remember.

Lord, what I wouldn't give to find myself one of those Kowalski men!

Yes, I did. I didn't really expect to. I don't know why but it was good. My library has the 1st 3 in the series. Guess I have to look to buy the rest of them :(

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments I think we are doing a "mail it on" challenge in Romance Lovers for the Challenge Impaired. Here is the link: Chain-male Mail.

It hasn't gotten off the ground yet, but there are several people interested. Maybe someone will pick it up from one of the other books in the series??

message 628: by Anna (new)

Anna | 42 comments Finished reading Eyes of Silver, Eyes of Gold by Ellen O'Connell , and if you haven't read it I think you all may like it (it's just as good).

Also finished Nightfall (Dark Age Dawning, #1) by Ellen Connor , and currently reading the next one: Midnight (Dark Age Dawning, #2) by Ellen Connor . They kind of remember me of Resident evil (postapocaliptic word).

message 629: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cawils_99) Finished The School for Brides by Cheryl Ann Smith which was very good. Now onto something a little different Megan's Mark (Breeds, #7) by Lora Leigh .

message 630: by Anna (new)

Anna | 42 comments Cheryl wrote: "Now onto something a little different Megan's Mark (Breeds, #7) by Lora Leigh."

I had lots of fun with Breed books, I especially liked Soul Deep (Breeds, #5) by Lora Leigh . After the 10th or 15th instalment they get kind of repetitive, though (there are 22 novels published). Now I'm only waiting for Cassie's book.

message 631: by Temi (new)

Temi (temisol) | 7 comments Hello! I'm new to the group. I'm about to start The Perfect Kiss. I'm a big Eloisa James fan and I tend to have look at her 'Books to love' page whenever I'm in the mood for some HEA. This is her October pick so I'm giving it a go. Anyone here read much Anne Gracie?

Yeah the Breeds were fun, total co-sign on the repetitiveness later on though. I guess there are only so many ways to say 'mating heat' :-) The idea of the 'barb' inspired a great deal of prurient interest from my boyfriend who finds my addiction to HEA so amusing! All in all though, I kinda prefer the approach of
Nalini Singh to the whole 'were animal sex' and relationships

message 633: by Lina (new)

Lina LOL Temi! Have to agree with you on the Breeds series. I've read one or two, some hot scenes, but definitely prefer the world-building in Nalini Singh's psy/changeling series. I think it's a completely different approach.

I'm relatively new to the PNR genre, I've only been reading paranormal for the last two years but I've been amazed at the selection once I got hooked.

Never heard of Anne Gracie, about to go check her author page out now...

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments Hello, Temi! Welcome. Yes, I've read To Catch a Bride (Devil Riders, #3) by Anne Gracie and I have The Accidental Wedding (Devil Riders, #4) by Anne Gracie lined up for our ~ Brides, Grooms, & Weddings All Year Round ~ Challenge. I really like her b/c she writes a HEA with a good plot, but approaches it differently.

Anna, this is not the first one I have read. I picked up Navarro's Promise (Breeds, #24) by Lora Leigh at Target and after realized it was book #24. So I will probably read them when I need something different.

Breeds series vs. Psy/changeling? No contest there. One is good entertainment (most of the times), while the other really is really good writing. Psy vs. Immortals after dark? That would be a tighter competition...

message 638: by Anna (new)

Anna | 42 comments Finished Willing Victim by Cara McKenna , and if you are in the mood for a raw, steamy book... go for it. Reading and having a good time with Ransom (Highlands' Lairds, #2) by Julie Garwood

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 1922 comments Anna..... Willing Victim... I own it and want to read it. On a scale of 1-10....

What's the angst factor?
What's the steam factor?
What's the HEA factor?

Lina UniquelyMoi *~*Dhestiny*~* wrote: "Anna..... Willing Victim... I own it and want to read it. On a scale of 1-10....

Hope you don't mind me answering.
What's the angst factor? Not overly angsty, I didn't think, I would've said a 5-6 out of 10.
What's the steam factor? The sex is consensual, but there is a forced role-play that you'll either find HOT, or you'll be uncomfortable with. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this premise. The author's writing is just quality, which is rare for an adult /erotica.
What's the HEA factor? There is no HEA factor, only a Happily For Now

message 645: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Naughty Co-Mod (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 1922 comments Thanks, Caro! And no, I don't mind you answering at all.

Anna | 42 comments Carob wrote: "UniquelyMoi *~*Dhestiny*~* wrote: "Anna..... Willing Victim... I own it and want to read it. On a scale of 1-10....

Angst factor : 4-5? Not much
Steam factor : 9-10. As Caro has said, the key here it is if you can be comfortable with forced role-play providing it’s absolutely consensual.
HEA: I agree with Caro, it's a happily for now, but I found it promising. I wouldn't have bought a HEA, it is a too short story for that.

Main characters are also interesting, realistic, well-drawn and honest to themselves. Hero is a blue-collar worker, which is quite unusual; it is interesting how he comes to grips with his sexual preferences.
