The Character of Thomas Jefferson

I though this discussion topic might spark some interest.
Jefferson has, like every other Founding Father, his faults, but he was slightly different than others; he had a brilliant mind, yet he stooped to such a level as to slander against George Washington (not to mention his friend at one point, John Adams) I have opened this discussion to see what your views are on this ambiguous Founding Father.

I like him but i dont understand why he wrote all men are created equal and he had hundreds of slaves
