Alexandria (maesiff) | 7 comments I disagree. Althought it was badly written, I found Twilight tolerable. I think they got worse and worse as they went along, and Breaking Dawn was the worst book I've ever read in my life.

I admit, for a short time, I loved Twilight, and I did read them all. I read all the Harry Potter books too, and they're even longer than Twatlight. I mean Twilight.

Too long? It's only 4 books and about 2000 pages in total. I can think of several series that are MUCH longer both in number of books and pages.

Were you referring to Harry Potter?

Um, Twilight was okay. Bella was an annoying brat, Edward was...well, he was an annoying brat as well (I can see why they made a great couple). All Bella did was whine and complain, and Edward was brooding over the fact that he turned into a vampire for...what, 100 years? This series doesn't live up to all the hype and I've read way better series than this. I give it a 2 out of 5 just because it held my attention.

Maria Elmvang (kiwiria) | 72 comments Jenny, you quoted me, but I don't know if the question was addressed to me? Assuming that it was, I wasn't referring to any one particular series, but Harry Potter certainly does fit the bill of being longer than Twilight. So do Outlander, Sword of Truth and Women of the Otherworld just to mention the ones I could think of off the top of my head :)

The question was adressed to you. Wait, you've read women of the otherworld??? Me and my friend loved that series?! (If you've read it) Who was your favorite character?

Penny | 9 comments Breaking Dawn: one of the worst books ever published.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

I think Twilight seems longer than it is because it is such a bad series.

Raiveran Rabbit | 12 comments Trying to rationalize the main comment of this thread.

How exactly is watching a delusional author-insertion character whinge on about her undead stalker boyfriend WORSE than having said boyfriend chew their satanic demon baby from her womb? Really?

message 15: by Ulrich (new)

Ulrich (ulricht) | 2 comments Honestly I thought Stephanie Meyer's writing improved throughout. That's not really saying much though. It was still all a total "Mary Sue".
I think the style got better while the concepts got worse. All still utter rancid yak butter.

(@ Raiveran, he was her husband at that point, apparently the god of the Christians scares an undead creature of the night who's so badass he can take on a werewolf while sparkling like a fairy...)

message 16: by Jojobean (new)

Jojobean Twilight and Breaking Dawn were the best. I didn't really like New Moon or Eclipse. Coulda done without those

Agreed! It's almost like her editors knew the last book in the series would make so much money, they allowed Meyer to do her own editing. Which she obviously didn't get around to doing!
