Mel (mel_b) | 45 comments Anja, don't ever apologize for being longwinded, especially when your theories are funny ( “That right there makes a case for her being his ex-wife") or support the fact that Nix and Lothaire are going to be each other's HEA (I'm going down with the ship with you girls).

Harper (of course) I agree with the fact that it would not make sense for a new guy to end up with Nix. He would indeed have to be mighty impressive to woo us and I think Cole knows he has very big shoes to fill since most of her fans expect the fabulousness that is Lothaire to be the hero.
Also, I stick to my earlier comment about the bit in Untouchable. A human couldn't have gotten away so quickly, even one who works for the CIA. Unless the CIA guy is not a human...
What do we know about him anyway? Where was he mentioned again?

Camilla (millaz) | 46 comments Got Dftd in the mail yesterday, and I'm going to start it, in about 5 hours.. I'm so counting down for that.. Cant wait.. :D)

Mel, from what I recall Nix only mentioned the CIA once in passing and not really anyone in specific. If there was more, I don't remember it.

In that scene in "Untouchable" it just says the figure had "hastened away." It could have been anyone since Nix is always plotting. LOL.

Mel (mel_b) | 45 comments I was hoping she was smooching with Lothaire.... *sigh*

message 205: by Anja (new) - rated it 3 stars

Anja | 95 comments Here is one of my crazier ideas that I've had for a while now. I don't think Nix was with Lothaire in "Untouchable." I think Nix has predicted her future but is trying to avoid her hero so she doesn't get distracted from her important work. In AHLNO I think it is possible she was "napping" because she knew Lothaire would be in the house and she didn't want to run into him and blood him. They are never in a scene together in any book and that could speak to more avoidance on her part. Of course, she could have been "napping" because she knew they wouldn't need her help. But they are both quite old and still single and ready to mingle. Has Nix been dodging the old guy for millenia?

message 206: by Mel (new) - rated it 3 stars

Mel (mel_b) | 45 comments Oh Anja, I love your Lothaire/Nix theories!
I hope you're totally right. It sounds plausible enough. :)

I started to wonder about that after a while. I didn't think much about it during the first reading, but once I got into the series I was like, it's mighty convenient that we've never seen Lothaire and Nix run across each other in any of the books. It would seem just like her to avoid her hero, if for nothing else than the fact that she doesn't want any kinds of distractions on her quest for goddess status. LOL.

Nichole (DirrtyH) (dirtyh) | 35 comments That's it.
I will not stand for any other pairing for those characters. You all have presented such convincing arguments, I have to have it now!

message 209: by Ez (new) - rated it 4 stars

Ez (ezrah-rah) Yay! Hop on board, Nichole. LOL. Maybe we should send all of our arguments/theories to KC along with a petition. :p

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 309 comments I just finished DftD! And I loved Malkom, especially at the beginning when they were in Oblivion, I liked the bit when he kept trying to give her severed heads! Although Carrow was a bit meh, she wasn't as memorable as the other heroines in the previous books, I think Ruby outshone her!

I so want Lanthe and Thronos's book! When he dragged her away I want to know what happens next, almost as much as I want to know what happeneing with Regin and Chase.

As for Lothaire and El Dorada, I don't think that they are going to be a pair, I didn't get that vibe. Normally the heroines even if they are a little evil, there is something good in them, where as El Dorada is the Queen of Evil. But then again who knows what side The Enemy of Old is on?!

By the way, whose is the third book in the trilogy, I thought it was Lothaire, but I am getting the impression that his book is a whils away

Anja | 95 comments Suzanne wrote: "By the way, whose is the third book in the trilogy, I thought it was Lothaire, but I am getting the impression that his book is a whils away"

I have always assumed the third book would be Lothaire's because KC kept calling it a trilogy and the epilogue of PoaDP had 3 scenes from 3 captured characters, 2 of which get the first 2 books. Plus KC saying it is a trilogy implies to me that it will be a broad story arc to cover 3 books. The last of a trilogy in movies/books is usually the one with the big daddy of all fights and with Lothaire being hunted by La Dorada, I get the impression his book will have some massive fallout, especially if my theory about him bringing the Daci back holds true. That would be a turning point in the series arc that would allow for some fresh blood (heh) to change things up a bit.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 309 comments I hope it is, but then I am also toen aout it being Thronos and Lanthe's book as she surely can't leave it at her being dragged off, I NEED to know what happens next!

If all the big battle scenes happen in the third with Lothaire, with his mysterious female and El Dorada facing off, and won't that be great *does excited dance* Oh and there is also the army of immortals and mortals coming to the army aswell!

message 213: by Ez (new) - rated it 4 stars

Ez (ezrah-rah) Yeah, I think the 3rd book will be Lothaire's - it's the only thing that makes sense after that cliffhanger ending in PoaDP and she's said his book would be out sometime in 2011 in the forums - but KC wouldn't confirm that in that Ustream she did, so who knows? She did say that Lanthe was in her rotation, but she made it seem like her book/novella wouldn't be out for a while yet. Gah, I'm not sure what she's planning. She might just be throwing a bunch of red herrings out there to keep us on our toes!

message 214: by Anja (new) - rated it 3 stars

Anja | 95 comments I agree, Harper. The evidence supports Lothaire.
1. She said in her video chat that Lothaire's book was coming.
2. She was almost definitely positive his book would be out in 2011.
3. The epilogue.

I want Lanthe to be after Lothaire and then I'd like to get Tera and possibly Cara next.

message 215: by Anja (new) - rated it 3 stars

Anja | 95 comments She might pull some more brand new characters out though. When Carrow's book was announced it took me by surprise because there hadn't been a lot of interaction from her.

message 216: by Ez (new) - rated it 4 stars

Ez (ezrah-rah) Yeah, she could do a book for anyone who's been even briefly mentioned up to this point - Loa, Lucindeya, Cassandra, Cara, Gamboa, etc. It'd be weird to come out with a book for someone who hasn't been mentioned at all, but I wouldn't put it passed her!

message 217: by Anja (last edited Sep 03, 2010 08:33PM) (new) - rated it 3 stars

Anja | 95 comments Don't forget Rok. It is almost as if she is trying to keep us buying these books until she dies from old age. Damn her and her job security.

Not that I mind.

message 218: by Ez (new) - rated it 4 stars

Ez (ezrah-rah) LOL. Ah, yes, Rok...and Desh! I'd love to get a story for Desh. I have a bit of a pirate fetish.

Mhollie | 17 comments Help! In DftD Cole uses "R.S.V.F.U." What does it mean?

Ez (ezrah-rah) Instead of RSVP (répondez s'il vous plaît = respond, if you please), it's RSV F*ck You.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 309 comments Don't forget Uilleum! I really want to see a book from him, and Munro

message 222: by Ez (new) - rated it 4 stars

Ez (ezrah-rah) Oh, yes, those delicious Lykae twins. Don't know how they slipped my mind...

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 309 comments Shame on you Harper! : )

Did anyone else find the cat fight between Carrow and Sabine hilarious!?

message 224: by Mel (new) - rated it 3 stars

Mel (mel_b) | 45 comments Up to a point. But I hated the way Rydstrom let himself be pushed around. He is levelheaded but he's not a push over. And I found it weird that Garreth didn't know Malkom was a vemon. If anybody, Garreth and Lucia had seen several before (in HLNO).

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 309 comments That's true, but they said there are only 4 in existence, it might not have occured to them that he was a vemon.

message 226: by Mel (new) - rated it 3 stars

Mel (mel_b) | 45 comments Well I wasn't buying that scene. I don't know but the whole gathering in the House of Witches-scene rubbed me the wrong way... *grumblegrumble*

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 309 comments lol I know what you mean, but I do like having a peek at all the past couples. I don't think this was her best book over all, but I enjoyed it.

I feel you, Mel. That scene just felt contrived and out-of-character for some of them. It was weird.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 309 comments I wanna know why Munro wasn't there, as Uilleum was one of the people on the island

Jenese (jsnow09) | 7 comments OMG! I just finished DFTD last night. I can barely put into words how much I loved this book. This is now my favorite book of hers! She continues to amaze me. Malkolm was such a dynamic character, I adored him. You have to love the clueless, almost hopeless men. He transformed into such a confident man in the end I just loved it all. Carrow, I thought was also great. When she was pleading with him to trust her again, made my eyes water. :( (Which has NEVER happened in a book before) I really feel like reading it again! lol

What if she's *gasp* his mom or sister or something? Can you imagine!?

message 232: by Mel (new) - rated it 3 stars

Mel (mel_b) | 45 comments I'd rather have La Dorada be his mom so Lothaire can end up with Nix :)

Saucyminx | 41 comments Mel wrote: "I'd rather have La Dorada be his mom so Lothaire can end up with Nix :)"

It could happen! I mean they're both evil right? The enemy of old and the queen of evil! I'm definitely thinking they're related but hate each other or something (hence he calls her a bitch).

message 234: by Mel (new) - rated it 3 stars

Mel (mel_b) | 45 comments Well he could just call her a bitch because she's an evil woman, but I wouldn't be surprised it they have a history together. I just hope that their bond is a family tie.
I need Lothaire to end up with Nix. Just vehemently desperately need it. No one else will do, pooh!

message 238: by Jackie (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jackie (wolfiegirl) | 3 comments Never thought about lothaire with nix but she definatly needs a strong man to curb her crazyness just a little. I love all of KC's heros. They all have their own special quirks as well as Malkolm.. He was so *HOT* and his inability to properly communicate in the begining was sooo funny... I could definatly reread that again right now but I am reading the faefever series right now by karen moning. It's pretty good.

BDB (the Black Dagger Brotherhood) and Wrath, the Blind King. Yes...start at book one and read them all. JRWard or the Warden. There is a group here for those books too.

ha...this actually for the wrath challenge and I don't want to read his book for his challenge. Was trying to find another book. LOL

Mel (mel_b) | 45 comments Jesslyn, I'm pretty sure someone in the challenge thread made a few suggestions for books. Did you see those?

Also, try this link: http://forum.rpg.net/archive/index.ph...
A lot of non paranormal books but there is some science fiction.

omg Kim, what have you heard (re: Nix & Lothaire pairing)???

Flowergirly | 7 comments I am neutral on Lothaire (maybe will like him more after we get a story with him and Nix) but I adore Nix, so it will be nice to get her story. I suppose it would be fitting that she is the "Bride" of someone as crazy as Lothaire. Guess we will have a LONG wait and see. Reign's story should be almost as good!!
