Linda C | 30 comments You're right-- my bad. It is T&A that is coming out in paperback-- not TSG.

For what it's worth, I bought my copy of T&A from AmazonUK 2-3 years ago, and if it is only now coming out in paperback in the states... what's up with that? It might take another 2-3 years to then get TSG available here. Looks like another visit to Amazon UK is in the cards...

Apparently TSG is being re-released in Jan 2011.

I bought a used copy of T & A in a local used book store. It was a hardback. I think the new ones are just reprints, but maybe it is the first time in paperback here in the States. TSG is definitely hard to find.

Aww, thanks Shell. Looks like I need to order a used copy. I can't wait that long.

Agreed Kelly :(

Diane (ladydi4476) | 107 comments OMG I'm so tired of waiting for my copy of T & A to arrive! There was no way I could wait until June so I ordered it from Amazon as well, over a week ago and it has yet to arrive. I also ordered TSG which arrived two days ago. I can't read the third without the second and it's killing me. I wish these books weren't out of print, I would have been done reading all three of them by now. I finished TBH almost 2 weeks ago and I'm running out of patience :(

I know exactly how you feel Diane! I wish it wasn't so hard to find them!

My library didn't have TSG either. I bought it used on AbeBooks.

Thanks for letting us know about that sight, I have never heard of it before you mentioned it!

I was having that same problem... i would buy them used or if you can wait do it... I'm dying right now because i finished TBH a week ago and am still waiting for the 2 books to come in the mail - AHHHHH So i started Sara Donati, Into the wilderness. It's a great read. And for those outlander fans (like Me:) Claire, Ian and Jamie are talked about :)

I read Into the wilderness before Outlander and loved it. I did know that they made appearances, but since I didn't know them while reading Donati's book, it was lost on me. I however, did not finish Dawn on a Distant Shore. It moved way too slow for me.

Nathaniel talks about a "white witch" named Claire Frasier that helped his save a young boy. Page 250 they even talk about works-with-her-hands, Ians wife. I was so happy to see those names again :)

Cool, thanks so much for sharing that Leea! :) I read a posting on an interview, I believe, of Donati, she stated that she asked Gabaldon if they could appear because a scene needed Jamie and Claire.

message 67: by Leea (new)

Leea | 317 comments It would be so nice if Diana included Nathaniel in her upcoming books. Just started dawn on a distant shore... so far so good but i'm also waiting for Tatiana and Alexander to come in the mail so.

message 68: by AJ (new)

AJ | 29 comments I feel for you guys not being able to find T&A and TSG. I'm in Australia, and all three books are very readily available - we're huge fans down here!
So here's a bit of news for you die-hard fans: the UK / Australian version of the middle book of the series is called 'The Bridge to Holy Cross' and it's different from T&A. It contains some of the original story from TBH but from Alexander's point of view. So more Lazarevo! You can get it through Amazon.

message 69: by Diane (new)

Diane (ladydi4476) | 107 comments I order TBTHC from Abebooks.com but it never arrived. I think it got lost. I ordered it almost 2 weeks ago :( I have T & A, but I want to read those missing chapters.

Aj thanks for the info. At Borders books you can pre-order T&A and TSG. I am going to have to start looking for TBTHC. More Lazarevo! In Shuras POV!!!???? I want that book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

message 71: by AJ (new)

AJ | 29 comments I've not actually read T&A so this is secondhand information, but yes there is more Lazarevo.

message 72: by Linda (new)

Linda C | 30 comments My T&A came from the UK, but it is T&A and NOT TBTHC, so just be careful-- not every book coming from the UK will be different. So confusing, all these versions, copies etc.

Also, fyi: I just picked up TSG thru Amazon, very good quality paperback, doesn't look read, back cover only slightly bent, no more than it will be after I read the book, and very reasonably priced.

Kaarolaa28 | 5 comments in my country, the summer garden has been since 2005 :)

message 74: by MomToKippy (new)

MomToKippy I totally agree with this. I read all three in the series and I rated them all a 4 because of the overly explicit sex. I just don't get it sorry! Why was it necessary? I think it takes away from the romance to be so explicit. You don't need to hit me over the head with it - just seems crass and I don't see how it contributes to the story imo.
