What Should I Try In New Orleans?

I've only been to NO once, about...yes, twenty years ago, by myself. I took the train down when I was nineteen, I think. I had a great time and I always wanted to return. Where's Heidi when you need her? I bet she could answer this question. I taunted her this morning on facebook, so hopefully she'll see this thread.
Travel Channel has a New Orleans guide...

I'd send Heidi a note Kevin, she should be able to point you in some pretty fun directions.

Plus, you'll need to sit there and channel me so I can finally try them. :)

Cafe du Monde, obviously.
Pat O'Brien's, entertainingly.
There's also Mother's but I prefer a place that's down the road and around a few corners and the name of which is completely escaping me right now - Sorry! But they have the best fried chicken!

thanks sher!

try to post some pics tomorrow. staying at the Crowne Astor on the corner of Bourbon and Canal. last night was the end of Mardi Gras (kinda). looked like if Dante ran Disneyworld
Nice, thanks for sharing Kevin.

Great pictures, Kevin.
If anyone asks you where you got your shoes, tell them you got them on your feet. :)

they are gonna have to drag my chubby arse outta here baby.

Which was a shame, because we went to Mother's. I sipped a 7-Up to try to settle my stomach while Chris ate red beans and rice.

i fly out in the morning. maybe a few more beignets early?
