A recent auction happened that sold items formerly belonging to Ted Kaczynski, the famous “Unabomber”. Three individuals perished and almost 24 were injured by bombs mailed by Kaczynski, who was a Harvard educated mathematics wizard before turning to eco-terrorism. Greater than $200,000 was raised in the auction of the Unabomber's individual effects. That is much more than a simple personal loan.Remembering past for good.

I'm afraid that Kaczynski 'hit the nail on the head' when he declared that we are all willing take the easy way out. If we were more willing to endorse the analogue rather than the digital, the manual rather than technological, and the human rather than the robotic, in other words to be in control, rather than being controlled, we might find ourselves to be more fulfilled - more challenged perhaps - but ultimately more fulfilled, and to be less of a guilty party in the hideous trashing of our God-given environment. It takes effort to escape from the slippery slope of technological 'progress'.

Ted provides a good dose of counterbalance to the popular media's tendency to overhype tech. His insight into tech's ability to make life easy thus causing boredom and depression - making life into some kind of anti - Dark Souls dystopia is pretty on point. But perhaps he's too dismissive of the role of curiosity as a driving force /too eager to categorize everyone into the power process. But I'm too knuckleheaded to provide anything insightful.
