Since a lot of the comments are mine, I am still floored months later. The blatant misinformation about what the laws are and how they apply make me glad for groups like this, Copyright Alliance, and the fact that the US Copyright site is now taking the bull by the horns and adding piracy to the FAQ.

BTW, am I the only one that finds it galling that non-US authors are often (not always, thankfully) clueless about Berne?

I'm not galled. Brenna, you and I (and several others) take time out to tackle problems, but it's time-consuming to read what the laws of any country really say.

I refuse to be a literary hamster on a treadmill and to write faster and faster because of piracy.
