In the process. We were supposed to go to my parents but my mom called this morning and said she wasn't feeling up to it. So I have 4 slabs of ribs, 6 chicken breast, a big bowl of macaroni salad and 24 dinner rolls to eat. *sigh* So my daughter came here instead and we're about to chow down :)
Sorry to hear about your mother Dhestiny. You went to so much trouble you should enjoy the fruits of your labour. No pun intended.

The truth is that my brother decided to come up to see her and honestly, truthfully, she adores him a lot... me? She doesn't adore so much. So not feeling well was a lie.
But I'm going to drive up there now and drop food off. My dad really wanted some ribs. He was very excited when I told him I was bringing them for dinner, so I'll take them up for him. My brother is gone now so since it's an hour drive both ways, so I need to get going!
I hope everyone had a greeeat Mothers' Day!
A lot of violence but not really gory bloody. But yes, some blood. Lots of action and some comic relief here and there.
Oh, Pamela. You should make sure the person doing the next one has a lot of experience taking the mamogram.
I'm glad you went, and I'm glad you're going back. I had to do a repeat for the same reason, nothing to compare to, and everything was fine. I'll say a prayer for you that everything'll be okay!
love the little stickers that they stick on the end. with a metal ball. I think I will start a collection.
Yeah, those little tiny "markers" that are about the size of a dime and have a "metal ball" a little bigger than the size of a pin head so they show up on the x-ray. Think of them as tassels. LOL!
Oh, well, they called me again from the dr.'s office. I'm low in iron and they want me to get a colonoscopy. They hate me, I tell ya!
Oh, dear! Take your iron tabs, Pamela. Yes, you'll be sh!ting bricks - literally - but you'll feel better. The colonoscopy is b/c of your age, right? No symptoms, I gather.
Yeah, I think so. I guess since I've slid by for so long they decided to sock it to me while they can.
I'm
My insurance sent out something to me a few weeks ago about the things I need at my age. I went and looked at it so I guess its my insurance ppl's fault :(
Hi!! I have been MIA for several days and am trying to catch up with everyone : ) First I would like to say Happy Belated Mother's Day!!!
Mothers Day Graphics @ dazzlejunction.com
Last week was a very busy hectic week. I was helping my two boys look at colleges, fill out applications, get financial aid papers filled out and all that good stuff. My youngest son turned 18 on Mother's Day so I got to tease him about having to share his birthday with me LOL. On top of being busy, I caught the flu from my youngest son, which he didn't have to share that of all things. But I am back now, still sick but hopefully getting better : )
@ Pamela UGHHHH I hope everything turns out perfect on all your tests and wish you lots of luck!!!
Oh wow! You HAVE been busy, Robin! I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well, but glad you're on the mend!
@Robin, I feel great! Apparently my doctor got the letter saying I need all these tests because of my age and he must have actually read it. Boo on him!!!!Good Luck on the apps. I did the Navy instead of college but I hope my daughter goes to college. She still has a few years before we worry about that. And GET WELL NOW!!!!
Thanks everyone!!! BOOOO HISS on the letter requesting all the tests Pamela. But, better to be safe than sorry. LOL I am trying to GET WELL NOW but it just isn't working in my favor LOL
Thanks Dhes!! Yes very busy but glad that some of it is over. Now we just play the waiting game :(
Wished you well in another thread, Robin, but I guess doing so again can't hurt! ☺So neat about the college apps!!! I'm excited for him, LOL!
If a group is doing a group read, how they set the book so it shows as a group read on the homepage?

Thanks LK!!! Yes you did wish me well already : ) Now if I can only get the youngest one to make up his mind about college LOL
Dhes:Add a book so it appears at top of Our Home Page.
Make sure the book is added to our bookshelf. If not, choose "Add to Group."
Once the "add Group Book" or the "edit Group Book" box pops up, click on choose shelves and select "to read" if it is upcoming (say, a "Buddy Read") or "currently reading" if we currently are!
Select the appropriate start/stop dates.
Right now, there is no way to edit (shorten) the hyperlink to the discussion thread, so you will just have to put the whole thing in.
P.S. Be advised, if you don't select an end date and you haven't switched it over from "to read" to "currently reading" - it will no show at the bottom of the group page. (Meaning, you can't click on "edit" -- you'll have to go search for it under bookshelves.)
Every once in a while they have trouble with this feature. A "workaround" is to add the book to the group's bookshelf first... then go in an edit it. Don't know if it is a problem right now or not.
Okay, so I have to add the book to the group, first. I've never done that either, but I'll give it a try. Thanks, Lisa Kay!
I'm excited!!! I have lived in the middle of no where NE in a village of about 650 people for the last couple of years. It is by far a lot different than living in/around the Nashville TN area lol. Today, I had to go to the "big city" which is about 25 miles from me and in another county. I finally got to go in and explore the library there : ) I got a library card and checked out a few books!!! The library in my village is about the size of a small boutique and I have yet to go in it as it is only open 2 days a week for 3 hours a day (2-5). There is another library in my county which is bigger and it is nice but I often can't find the books I am looking for. I am excited to finally have a bigger library to go to and hopefully find some of the more recent books/new releases :)
That's great, Robin. My library isn't big and I heard they have plans to build a bigger building but it got put on hold until they have the funds to do it. There is also a Friends of the Library sale 2 times a week but I haven't found anything I want the last few times I went in.
The library in the smaller city always has books for sale and they have more to offer in that area than the larger library I went to today. They have a deal of fill up a bag and pay $1 so I always walk out of there with at least one bag. The library today $0.25 for romance paperback and I think $1 for hardback. I bought 4 paperbacks. It has just been hard to adjust to seeing a book and going to the library and picking it up/putting it on hold TO going in the library and they have no idea what book you are talking about lolThe library I went to today had a nicer, bigger collection but I didn't find a lot of the books I was looking for. Books have gotten a little pricey so I don't buy them like I used to unless I can find them really cheap lol I would rather borrow them because I don't keep books once I read them and it is a chore keeping them all gathered up and lugging them off somewhere as a donation.
I hope the plans go through and you get a bigger library soon :)
Is anyone interested in doing a "buddy read" of I Do, I Do, I Do, by Maggie Osborne? I've read it before; however, I just love this author and I need a book with a title that has a repeated word. Plus, it is perfect for June. Or maybe July, LOL!
I've read it too but if no takers I'll see if I still got it and at least be able to discuss it with you.
