Hello everyone. Haven't been here for a bit so hope you're all fine. Have been reading a lot, but mainly books on the American War of Independence, so not suitable for this group. Have never read Victoria Holt, but will do one day.Summer's nearly come here. Still a bit fresh, but warmer. Everyone is always on about global warming, but I wish we could have a bit of it!

Looking forward to the cibo (food)."I just read this: study Italian? Yay! It's my native language :) I might be able to help you, should you wish, with places to visit too.
Last year I took my boyfriend whom is a Scottie, to Tuscany. We hired an appartment in a done up farm house in the middle of vineyards and 10 minutes cicling from a beach with a fantastic line of maritime pines to fence it.
It was incredibly cheap: 480 euro for a week all inclusive (for both of us!)
We got an amazing, newly decorated place with a huuuuge bedroom furnished with lovely tuscan pieces, all washed off white, a massive super king size bed with amazing pure cotton linen and the best pillows and two sleek bathrooms with walk in showers. Deckchairs on the front patio, which faced a magnificent centenary maritime Pine at least 10 feet tall. The patio hosted also a nice table with chairs to eat al fresco under a pergola.
The kitchen too was brand new, an open space very cosy, tinier than the bedroom but super cool. At our arrival we found a pack of good pasta, a jar of tomato sauce and a bottle of white wine they make on the place. The owners were FANTASTIC!
They gave us also free umbrella/sundeck chairs slot on the beach, for the hole week. And they invited us to a wine tasting event where we savoured great food and enjoyed their wines.... we bought a few bottles then and there, amazing.
The place is called Conte Novello (the house is "sister to Il Pelago, 3 minutes away from it), in Castagneto Carducci, a tiny lovely town. We were mesmerised, I myself had never been there before but plan to go back asap.
Here, take a look, these people deserve word of mouth as said

That sounds lovely Jade. My brother lived in Italy for 20 years, but I never visited and really regret it now, as he has returned home to England.
Thanks, Jade! Yes, I need to call you so you can tell me why, when I say "è" - the mike almost never picks it up. I've listened to it, like, 10,000 times and still don't know what I'm doing wrong. Also, still planning my trip... so thanks for all the suggestions. **sigh**

That place is truly cheap, a tranquil corner of the world where time seems suspended. Maybe you can plan a holiday there soon! :))

You are most welcome Lisa. But I live in London, you'd have to use skype to call me, or else you'll accrue a huge phone bill LOL :)
I think you need to "push" out the sound with more force, as if almost shouting. I noticed that English speaking people tend to pronounce accented words with less emphasis than Italians: could that be the issue? Let me know
Abigail wrote: "I've never been to Richmond, so I'm looking forward to it. And - bonus - fall colors!"That sounds romantic... ah, I can imagine myself sat in a lovely spot of the garden, reading a nice romance!
If only flights weren't so dang expensive! (I'm giving a workshop so I'm not paying, but still! I want them to get their money's worth!)
We plan to start traveling once the kids are both in college (one starts this year!). We were lucky enough that my husband worked in Germany for over a year and we saw a lot of Europe while we were there. But we've been back for a few years and I feel stuck in suburbia. Problem is once they're in college, we won't have money to travel. As Roseanne Roseannadanna says "...it's always something — if it ain't one thing, it's another..."
boyfreind has a week off. He spent the night at my place yesterday, we're going to see Independance day Thursday and go to our favorite Mexican for dinner after.

It's so great when people learn my language, it's a very romantic language and it pleases me to know people make efforts to learn it.
On another note ladies.... I got two place offers to study Law!
And, was that not enough.... got an interview offer at a top Law Firm here in UK that won the Chamber UK Bar award 2016 (Family law) ... I'm so beyond excitement now :))
Wish me luck!
Hey ladies.I've been on a work placement. Just got back from helping out at a SOUP event. It was really fun.
Abigail wrote: "Jade, that's fantastic!!!"Morning Ladies :)
Thanks Abigail, I'm really excited about studying Law... the dream of a lifetime. Can't wait.
On another note, I just finished a FANTASTIC book, by Santa Montefiore. This woman is an amazing writer, my favourite by far.
The book is
and I highly recommend it! I read it in two days, unable to put it down. It involves war and love affairs, betrayals, a lot of feisty characters and passion. The best thing is that it has not one, but two sequel books! HEA has never been so intriguing, the plot will leave you hungry for more, guaranteed! :))
My fingertips are cold and I'm catching Magikarp. You?And it's not autumn yet! This Florida girl is seeing temps in the 90s.
