I put [book:The Casual Vacancy book to the side 4 times and read something different before I was able to get through it.
I believe the ending has been changed for the TV version of The Casual Vacancy. I think it was because it was thought to be too sad.
I'm very proud of myself this Easter. I'm not a crafty person, but I made Minion eggs. Here's a picture of the little guys. Have a wonderful Easter!
Great job, Cathy! I'd hate to see what they would have looked like had I did them. I'm REALLY not a crafty person.
Lovely, Cathy. I have bought various boxes of industrially produced cakes with eggs on etc, so felt somewhat guilty when I looked at your efforts!
Happy Easter, everyone! And in the spirit of announcing book hauls I just got two I am so happy about.

Hi everyone. Have been unable to watch Poldark as grandchildren have been visiting, so have recordings to see. Have really missed my weekly ration of the series. When will it be on your screens?
*clasps a steaming cup of coffee in both hands and puts bunny slippered feet on the desk to settle back and browse through the cafe.
It must just be me but had a mental image there of you leaving them at the salon for waxing....I really must check what I'm putting into my coffee!
Hi Everyone. I'm afraid I won't be posting as frequently in the foreseeable future. I've gone back to working full-time outside the home - ah, the lure of the regular paycheck and benefits - so I won't have as much time for fun if I want to get any writing and promotion done. But it's been great chatting about books and other things with you ladies, and I'll check back when I can. Cheers!

Hi everyone. Sunny here today. Saw my little bit of the US yesterday, when I saw son on Skype in Connecticut. Now that I have visited him there it seems more real, and I can picture it better.

Hey - does anyone prefer first person or third person romances? I like first person ones myself but I tend to write in third person because I want to go from person to person in the story. But when I think of the romances I love, they're pretty much all in first person...
Abigail wrote: "As long as it's well written, I don't care."That's fair enough. I found myself wondering if you can get into the life of a character faster if they're talking directly to you.

If you have one main character, it's easy to write in the first person, but if you have several, then it's difficult to be hopping around. It makes the story seem a little disjointed.

Oh, you are so lucky! (never thought I'd say that about a thunderstorm, but...) They've been calling for a Thunderstorm here since Friday. It's never hit, and the humidity is awful.
We had rain here all morning, but the sun is trying to peek through now. More rain/storms expected tonight and tomorrow. Can't complain too much as we do need the rain -- though not as much as places out west.
I think we should be able to set the weather so that it only rains at night. That would be nice & make things easier. I light-ish rain every night and we'd have fantastic crops/lawns (depending on where you are)
Since I'm anti-cable or satellite, I'm waiting for the French Open to start on good-ole Broadcast t.v. I'm so glad tennis season has started here.
Groovy wrote: "Since I'm anti-cable or satellite, I'm waiting for the French Open to start on good-ole Broadcast t.v. I'm so glad tennis season has started here."Why are you anti-cable? It seems like a good idea to me as the cables are hidden below ground. We have cable and so can have TV stations from all round the world and I have been delighted with it.
Carol wrote: "Am also looking froward to the French Open, Groovy."Hi, Carol
I'm anti-cable because right now I'm sticking it to the MAN! I refuse to pay for bundles I don't need. I don't want two-hundred channels (I'd get nothing at all done, my writing career would come to a complete halt) All I want is the Tennis Channel--that's it. So, until they give me what I want, I'm protesting:)
I know you're enjoying the French Open since you have cable. I'm so jealous of you. I can't wait to see who made it through.

Oh, yes! I had to stop reading The Casual Vacancy, even though it is beautifully written and I love JKR's writing. Way too depressing for me.
