Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments 49 degrees. Looks misty, sun hasn't broken through, but not sure it will rain.

message 2853: by Carol (new)

Carol Dobson | 402 comments Damp, rainy, cold day here. At least it's January, not November! Not long to Spring now!

message 2854: by Lizzie (new)

Lizzie (lizzierw) | 2533 comments Its sunny here, but I imagine its gonna be freezing.

message 2855: by Jonel (new)

Jonel it looks gorgeous out here as well, but since it's supposed to have been -22 last night, I'm a little scared to go outside

I should imagine that every part of you needs to be covered in that sort of temperature or you would get frost bite.

Lizzie (lizzierw) | 2533 comments It rained heavily last night.

Lizzie (lizzierw) | 2533 comments Its not too bad outside. Wearing gloves does help though.

message 2860: by Janeiowa (new)

Janeiowa 72 degrees, sunny and wonderful today on the Gulf of Mexico.

Lizzie (lizzierw) | 2533 comments Is anyone from the UK watching Wolf Hall on BBC 2?.

message 2862: by Carol (new)

Carol Dobson | 402 comments Yes, I saw it last night. Have not read the book, so was interested to see it. What did you think, Lizzie?
I enjoyed it, but found it very slow-moving. I kept wanting Thomas Cromwell to be a bit more dynamic! He seemed very 'laid-back' even when his wife and daughters suddenly died.
I liked the historical aspect of it, although it all looked rather sparklingly clean and beautiful.
Damian Lewis, always one of my favorites, looked very handsome as Henry.

message 2863: by Carol (new)

Carol Dobson | 402 comments Cold and grey here today. Keep over-eating because of the weather. Hopefully it will warm up soon, or I will be enormous.

Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments So the faire is this weekend and it's supposed to rain tomorrow. I hate wet faires. Though we do get a bigger audience when it rains. ;)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments 40 degrees F here... 41 where I'm thinking of moving.

message 2867: by Carol (new)

Carol Dobson | 402 comments Starting to long for warm weather! Had enough of Winter!

message 2868: by Pamela(AllHoney), Fairy Godmother (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14527 comments 27 F but high expected is 54 F.

We have had a mild winter so far. Unfortunately the persimmons had a different story and promise a bad one. So either they were wrong or something is coming.

message 2869: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments 43 F - crisp and clear here. 54 F where I'm thinking of moving.

message 2870: by Carol (new)

Carol Dobson | 402 comments It seems to be getting hotter and hotter where you are thinking of moving. Hope you will be near a swimming pool!

message 2871: by Pamela(AllHoney), Fairy Godmother (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14527 comments I think the pool should be a deciding factor! lol

message 2872: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments Actually, it trends slightly cooler there, overall. But, yes, a pool would be wonderful! ☺

message 2873: by Pamela(AllHoney), Fairy Godmother (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14527 comments indoor pool?

message 2875: by Carol (new)

Carol Dobson | 402 comments I read somewhere that Bill Gates has a stream running through his living room! That seems really weird to me.

message 2876: by Pamela(AllHoney), Fairy Godmother (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14527 comments I want a hot tub in my living room! lol

message 2877: by Carol (new)

Carol Dobson | 402 comments Talking about hot tubs etc. our society is much more affluent these days than it was when I was very young. We had a tin bath in front of the fire for baths, no running water in the house, and an outside lavatory.
When I was 16, I visited the home of a French family in the countryside. The lavatory was just a hole in the ground in the garden with a wooden seat over it. There was no water in the house, it came from a well, and when you had used a bowl of water you just threw it out of the window!

message 2878: by Pamela(AllHoney), Fairy Godmother (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14527 comments I am very thankful for indoor plumbing!

Carol Dobson | 402 comments Holocaust Memorial Day today. So much sadness in the world, then and now.

Yes. I hate how some people try to pretend it never happened. We need to learn from the past.

Jordan Connell (tinkerer) | 271 comments Hi friends,

I saw a video today for Holocaust Memorial Day of survivors returning to Auschwitz 70 years later. Positively heart wrenching.

message 2888: by Janeiowa (last edited Jan 28, 2015 08:01AM) (new)

Janeiowa What's a good site to find the various pen names popular authors use?

I know the well-known ones like Nora Robers / JD Robb and according to Wikipedia she also writes as Jill March and Sarah Hardesty

and recently learned of Bella Andre /Lucy Kevin / Bella Riley

Is there a site that tracks these?

Phoenix (Online Elf) | 2061 comments Jane, this might help. Or this one.

I don't know. Sorry. But Fantastic Fiction lists pen names for their authors. http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/

Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments My singing group performed in a bar last night and today I'm all scratchy from the smoke. It's going to be a fun day at the faire!

message 2898: by Lizzie (new)

Lizzie (lizzierw) | 2533 comments I hope it doesn't snow here

message 2899: by Carol (new)

Carol Dobson | 402 comments I agree Lizzie. It's a nuisance when it snows here, as we're not equipped to deal with it properly, as we have it quite rarely and so not much money is allocated to clearing it and making it safe. Also, on a personal level, I don't possess the proper boots for it etc. for the same reason, as just mentioned, that we so rarely need that sort of thing.

message 2900: by Lizzie (new)

Lizzie (lizzierw) | 2533 comments Luckly it didn't snow. Just rained heavily which sucks also :lol.
