Yes, it's true. The coves are small, but they're all different and the coast is very striking.I live over at the top of Ellacombe, next to Babbacombe.
Plymouth is on a beautiful site, as well as having a very interesting history. It was unfortunate that it was so heavily bombed in the war, because of the dockyard, and so lots of buildings were quickly built, which were not always attractive. My grandparents and aunt lived there then, and my aunt used to relate how she was hanging out the washing one day, when a German fighter plane came over the hill, firing his machine gun at her. She said she could see his eyes!

The Burl Ives one with the land of misfit toys, and the dentist elf, and the singing, narrating snowman.

It's a vote for the cover art.

Hi everyone. Son, daughter and grandchildren now all arrived. Brother in law also visiting from London today. My cooking skills are not great, but hope for the best!
Visited the Xmas elves on the Babbacombe cliff railway, yesterday (as well as doing the cooking!). Had mince meat pies and a drink of wine. Also saw a polar bear. Very exciting for some of us.
So, it's been snowing here on and off for weeks now. And it's supposed to be warm and raining on Christmas day......
Hi everyone. Sun peeking out here a bit this morning. Friend and children coming this afternoon to play with grandchildren. Have cheated on food. It will be paper plates, 'nibbles' and cakes, and wine for the more elderly!
I'm slightly sad that it looks like it will be a green Christmas here. Mid Ontario, that's not a common scene. That said, it looks like it will be a fantastic Christmas.
Spent the morning with the grandchildren and scooters on the sea front. Lots of people and some winter swimmers in the sea.
Swimming anywhere outside this time of year seems crazy to me, but I also live in a much colder climate than many of you appear to.
Christmas Day has been and gone in Australia but I hope all our North American book friends are enjoying their day.
Bit chilly here today, however, son from Connecticut thinks the temperature is positively tropical! Part of family departing for home tomorrow and I'm off to North Devon for the day to see 93 year-old Mum.
Was going to buy fish and chips for lunch, but have just discovered it's Sunday, not Saturday, so where I want to go is shut! Definitely a Senior Moment! Raiding the fridge and freezer from what is left from Xmas, but not much there. It's my birthday today and son is still here, so will go out to celebrate later.
