I just notice on the update page a box that let you input your goal reading in 2011. I put a nice round number of 193. I'll probably read more but I don't want to over-extend myself

I saw that, too. It won't work for me because I have made shelves more specific like "Own have read" or "Ebook own have read" and it only counts if you use Goodreads "Read" shelf. :(
I put in the round number of 200 lol... I read 106 in 2010 but did not start counting until July so I think I can do 200. I'm like you Pamela, I have shelves for the year and keep count that way.

I also counted mine under read too. Double counting :)
Congrats! I won one back in Oct., but have yet to recieve it(and it was a holiday themed book!). Hope yours arrives more quickly than mine has =)
I do need to do that, but now I am certainly not in the mood for a holiday book =(I did click the button that says book not yet received, but I really should follow up with an e-mail.
yes, and there's always next Christmas. You can be ready for that one :) Which one was it? Do you mind me asking?
I see that Alissa Johnson is releasing a novel

We in Houston are not used to all this cold weather. We are having rolling black outs to conserve power. It has certainly messed up traffic!!
We are in upstate NY and have had 7 inches since yesterday.... that on top of the 2 feet we already have......... God forgive me I love it...... It gives me yet another excuse to be READING!!!!!
Our offices closed at noon today and will most likely be closed tomorrow! Yay! Long weekend of reading =))
It's bloody cold here and had a few flakes yesterday but no closings that I know of. The snow passed us by.

Pamela, I've never read this author. I really liked the excerpt...funny...will have to check out her other books and mark this one TBR. Thanks.
I marked Nearly a Lady ... to-read.... Thanks Pamela.
I'm sorry, life is throwing me another curve ball. I'd been sick for awhile and now my dad is in the hospital. He went in Sunday night with pneumonia, but tests have shown that it's possible he's got a serious cancer and my mom will have to come live with us. It's still not for sure, but its not looking good. Things are so up in the air right now.Pamela, I'm so sorry I've been such a lousy co-moderator for so long. I wish I could say things will get better, but I'm not sure that's true.
I'd like to remain in the group, but I'm feeling so guilty about not carrying my share. I'm going to step down as a moderator. You've been so awesome and so understanding, but I just can't stop feeling guilty about it.
Please send prayers and positive thoughts for my mom and dad, they are in need.
**hugs**
Dhestiny, (((hugs))) I'm so sorry about your dad and mom. They are more important than a group board on goodreads.

Praying for your family!
Praying for your family!
Lots of rain here in Arkansas and flooding in some areas. I'm on a mountain so no problem for me. I love rain but we've had so much. Need a little sunshine.
No child for 3 days! She went to cheer camp. I went out to the pool today by myself and no child splashing me. It was awesome! Then hubby came home and jumped in :( lolI love my child but it's nice to have a moment for myself sometime.
Those quiet times are wonderful, aren't they Pamela?:-)Both of my kids are going away to camp this week, but sadly not at the same time.:-( DS is gone today thru Fri.; DD from Sat. thru Mon. I may not get any real quiet time, but I suppose the bright side is that at least I don't have to listen to them fight all week.:-)
Hope everyone is doing well. Daughter came home early from camp. We had to go get her because she fell and hit her head. Doctor checked her out and she's fine but she had a sore neck for a few days. Now she's bored. Not many children in this neighborhood... Wait, what neighborhood? lol, we are rural but we do have neighbors but most are elderly. Anyway, hope all is well!
Awwww! Sorry to hear your daughter got injured, Pamela, but glad she's doing OK. When they can complain about being bored, you know they're not hurt too bad.;-)Both of mine are back. Now I'm patiently waiting for the end of the month when DS has a weekend camping trip and we've made arrangement for DD to go to a friend's house for the night so DH and I can get some alone time.;-)
Ahhh! Alone time.... sighHubby and I are alone tonight. Hubby let our daughter go spend the night at a neighbor's house. His daughters don't live here with him but he has them for the week. He and his 2nd wife have another girl but she's only 2 or 3 I think.
