I want to say I'm sorry for not saying much on here lately. I have pulled a muscle in my back and can't sit at my computer for long so I just check things and leave. But I do love you guys/gals!

But I do love you guys/gals!"Oh, Pamela, you poor lass. You must be uncomfortable. But the thing about a pulled muscle is that it'll get better providing you rest it. Get someone else to do all the jobs in the house and you lie down on the sofa.
Hi Pamela, I think you need to borrow a magic wand from the Fairy Godmother and make it better. I will sprinkle a bit of stardust tonight for you when I'm looking at the moon. Best wishes for a quick recovery, Carol.
That's disappointing, Lizzie, but positive vibes. Sometimes things pop up when you least expect them.

In the Times yesterday there was an article about Burgh Island Hotel, which was the setting for a television adaptation of Evil Under The Sun, with David Suchet as Poirot. It said that its owners want to install hundreds of solar panels there. People are objecting very strongly because it will harm the beauty of the island.
Well, the afternoon was brilliant (sunny and warm), but the evening...not so much. It's been LOUD upstairs all night -- steoreo and kids who dont live here running in and out all night or beating on my ceiling. And now -- at 10:30 at night -- they've suddenly decided the noise they cal music isn't torture enough, they're singing along. :-| I'm tired and ready for bed, but looks like I'll be up all night. :-(
No way to listen to audiobooks, but I may have to dig out a small radio and headphones while I read for a while. And don't think I plan on being quiet when I get up tomorrow. :-D

I have to wonder, however, which is more harmful to the island - the solar panels that produce clean power or the carbon emissions that are destroying the environment. People astound me, especially since solar panelling can be designed to merge with the surroundings.
Yes, I think that someone else also came out with the view that the hotel itself, an Art Deco building from I think, 1929 was not an attractive addition to the island.

Here in Australia so many people are opposed to solar/wind etc. energy, but I was in Spain for the past month and they seem to manage there just fine.
On the other hand, I lived in England for years and never made it to Devon! I really want to visit next time I'm there.

Yes, I was wondering that. It seems ideal for there.
The primary reason here that people seem to be against solar/wind power seems to be aesthetics. If it's an unsightly eyesore or will bring down their own property value, they don't want it.
Terrible. I managed to apply for three jobs today, but trying to upload my new and improved CV is a pain in the backside :p.
My sympathy. I haven't work for 14 yrs. I've thought about trying to get me a part time job but I dread hitting the streets.
I'm kinda shy. So asking random shops for jobs would just be awkward for me, although they say do that.

It is best to use to the phone or by email it depends on what means on communication they want on the job description.GOOD NEWS I managed to upload my new CV *happy dances*
Way to go, Lizzie!I feel perfectly miserable today. I was fine when I went to bed last night. Woke up around 2:30am with a scratchy throat and was so stuffed up I couldn't breath. Had to get up to take something, and ended up finishing a book while waiting for it to take effect. Apparently I had contact with someone earlier in the week I did not realize was sick. :-\
It was 5am before I managed to get back to sleep and was then rudely wakened at 7 by the alarm. Ugh! Not coming in today wasn't an option as the boss is out of town and I'm the only one here today. It's turning into a looong day. Can't wait until I can go home and crawl back into my pajamas.
Hope you all are having a better day!
