Pamela: I don't know whether to believe it or not, either -- but I doubt we'll live long enough to ever find out. Like you, I've always been a blonde with some red highlights from excessive sun exposure. I would have been okay with gray, but I protested it turning an ugly dark brown. :-\
Yes, I saw that as well. I love red hair, both for men and women. Also, when you get old, red hair often turns a very striking white. That also sometimes happens with black hair, as in my mother's case.
Would you believe me when I say I've never dyed my hair? I was always too scared it would turn orange or green. So, I stuck with what nature gave me, a kind of light brown. Now it's turning grey, but my hair is still very thick (like my head), so I'm wondering what kind of grey old lady I'll turn into. Hopefully it'll turn silver. That would be nice.
I used to dye mine twice year, sometimes more, starting when I was in 8th grade. Kept it up until I was about 22 or so. Then took a couple years break. It's been about a year or two since I last dyed it, but I'm ready to go again. I'm not at all fond of my natural blah medium brown hair and it's grey streaks. If it was a really dark, glossy brown, it wouldn't bother me so bad, lol. My go to color was a deep purple-ish red, but I've also done the bright red, blonde (one time, never again, lol! That was a pain), and black. I liked black the best, but babe wants me to do the purple-ish one again, so I'll probably go for that next time. My hair is not in great condition, that's true, but if it keeps me from having blah colored hair, I can deal with it xD
I have never died my hair, it started as a coppery red color and has faded down to brownish unless the lights hit it then the copper shows up again. My grandmother had white hair but my mothers went gray but she died her hair a lot so I'm hoping I get more of the white like my grandmother.
I died my hair a couple of times. The first time was ok, but then I wanted to go back to my original colour and no stylist could ever match it. I finally had to dye it a lighter colour at the end of the summer and let it grow out. It looked like it's sun bleached, which was believable since I work outside a lot. That's the last time I ever died my hair. I really hope I end up graying gracefully... lol.

Think of what great condition your hair is in, since you've never dyed it."My hairdresser tells me that my hair is remarkable for a woman in her sixties and has advised me not to get it dyed at my time of life. To tell you the truth, getting my hair styled is as much as I can bear. Thirty minutes of being faffed about with is enough for me. Would drive me insane to put up with hours of messing. I've never had a massage or been to a beauty parlour and I haven't a clue what a sunbed looks like. When I go on holiday, I tend to stay out of the sun, but that's doctor's orders. Three years ago I had surgery for skin cancer. The young surgeons who operated on me did the most amazing job on my leg and you would have to look closely to see anything. But now I'm very careful about exposure to the sun. Sunhat, sunglasses, sunscreen. The lot. That incident in my life certainly made me count my blessings and I really don't care about grey hair or wrinkles now. All you need is your smile and your God given beauty will shine through.
Always used to dye my hair as I went grey early, but stopped 8 years ago. Waited until after daughter's wedding so I looked normal, then let it grow out. It took a year and looked very strange during that time. Since then I have been very pleased with being grey. If you have light-colored or blonde hair I think you can get away more easily with dying it, but if, like me, you are dark, the color often contrasts oddly with your skin color.I have found that since being grey people tend to be very friendly. There is something very approachable and non-threatening about an older woman, and I have positively enjoyed this aspect of it.

I'm still packing for my jollies to Sicily tomorrow and I hope I'm still travelling in twenty years time.
Yes, I agree about the non-threatening aspect of being an older woman. I find I can talk to children and the parents don't think anything about it. It wouldn't be so if I were a chap in my sixties. My ex says he's treated with more caution the older he gets, especially in that department. It's so sad and it breaks his heart that folk might think he'd want to hurt their children.
At least it waiting until you got home :) I swear it always starts to rain when I'm as far from home as possible on foot.
I rarely have an excuse to buy a new coat, living in FL. But that's okay, because I love the one I have.
Chilly and overcast here today. Wore a hat and scarf on walk, but many people I met had bare arms and legs. It never fails to amaze me how so many of my fellow countrymen/women like to go round half naked even in cold weather.

Even on a 60F fall day, I'll be wearign a light jacket and scarf, and every other person I meet will be wearing shorts and tees.
We started out with sun and cool temps, it warmed up to low 60s (F) in the afternoon, but clouds and light rain have moved in over the last couple hours, and the temp is starting to fall again. They supposedly fixed our heat on Friday, and it was warm in here in the evening, but now appears to be out again. Sigh... :-\

Raining heavily on walk this morning. Saw yet another man in bare arms and no raincoat pushing an elderly lady in a wheelchair, who I was relieved to see had on a bobble hat and a coat. The sea was quite rough and because of the sandstone rock fall the water was pink with white waves, before becoming blue-grey further out into the bay. Very attractive.
I am finally making some headway on rearranging my new office at work so it feels more like mine. Moving into someone else's old office and trying to get things done was hard to do, nothing seemed to be in the right spot.

I was a blonde through my childhood and teens. If I got a lot of sun it would have streaks of red in it. But it darkened and now is a ugly brown mixed heavily with gray and white.
